Some how Mac, I dont think this move will appease those who were clamoring for a CB :lolol:

Had a decent 2012 though before being derailed by an injury.

Do you think the team was 8-8 because of a cornerback?

I have watched him being a bama fan. he has good ball skills and he will make some big plays that make you say " damn this kid is gonna be great" problem with him is and the reason I think he went undrafted is because of his lack of elite speed. he is a system cb and the system he played in is a lot like our system. he will make the roster I believe because he will pick up the system faster than some of the kids we have.

HUMMM seems thats the same thing you all said last year after we went 8-8 in 2012.. im hoping for 10-6 but can see 8-8 or 6-10 just as easily as 10-6...

shooooooooooooo dont say that.. they dont want to hear the truth here. just that wow this is the guy we were missing to go to the SB... lol.. heaven forbid you speak the truth and they will call you negative ... of course he sucks or the dolphins would have kept him.. its not like they are so loaded they are gonna drop good players and how many other teams passed on picking him up before we took him.. but its no biggie .. we dropped a crappy player and picked up another one ..

My bad, you meant Revis and Talib in free agency didn't you? I thought you meant they were awarded waiver claims today too. Sorry long day here. I actually did go to nfl.com to see who they claimed off waivers

You're not spouting truth though you are fence sitting.

That isn't a prediction that is covering the bases. I could say well the earth could be destroyed tonight by a comet but it could survive the comet strike too or the sun will come up in the morning like every other day. No matter what happens I'm right the same way you speaking the truth covers enough of a gap that should it look like your wrong, you still have wiggle room to claim that 12-4 record or 13-3 is still within the scope of your prediction because you can see 10-6 which implies more.

What I really love is your look at the team and not seeing anything that improves on the 8-8 record even though by your own admission you didn't look at who they were playing this season, what additions and subtractions those teams had made, any additions the Steelers made beyond FA, ie the draft or any other outside factors that may affect the outcome of wins and loses other than your basic premise that they were 8-8 the year before, they were 8-8 last year they still haven't changed so they must still be 8-8. How is that speaking the truth? It is 100% your opinion with a smidgen of fact to make it seem like the truth. Big difference

Keep giving your opinion though, oh, err, I mean speaking the truth!

Who know if Belue makes the roster, but Saban recruited him. He's a guy I didn't mind in the later rounds. I think he's an upgrade over the guy we cut. So in those terms, it is a positive.

he's a good corner. the turf toe could be a problem though. it lingered all last year for him. it ended 58's career. he was one of the tops on my list and draft sites for last season early on from his 2012 season. he just steadily slipped down the boards this year because of the injury. IF the kid can get healed he would be a nice addition. if he has lost some game because of it, probably not. I like the move though. he could even end up on IR or the PS for a year. that's like an extra draft pick.

we have a lot of corners here. ike, allen, gay, McCain, Richardson, blake I think will be the front runners. unless we make a move later to get another FA.

let's not forget the shark is healthy again and it's been talked about him playing nickel. he can cover well when healthy. those high ankle sprains are killer. that hurt him last year. he should be much improved this year. golden? also cb capable. year 3 for him and that's usually a biggy. I'm just glad we have gay sitting there for us. a lot may not agree, but he's been solid for us.

we are going to be bringing the speed on D at all 3 levels and that's a good thing.

This is a very good post. So true for a lot of fans on here, I get frustrated with it, but still understand opinions are opinions. The corner thing gets old..when I was younger I too was always the guy pissed because the steelers didn't draft a corner high, I wanted them to do that every year...EVERY YEAR! But I've seen that they just don't do that...and they have success so....

On another note CB is absolutely one of the hardest positions to play, tons get drafted every year and so few pan out. I just feel like some fans get angry with the front office as if you are saying "Every team has a stud CB except us!! When are we going to get one!!!?? The truth is teams with a STUD CB are the exception not the rule...and even if the steelers went and drafted a CB in the first round that guarantees nothing....he could very well still suck. I doubt very much you'd have to look far to find a slew of CB's drafted round one that did nothing in the NFL.

I wouldnt necessarily classify 8-8 as success would you? We DO need a top quality CB. Ike is past his prime and has been for a couple of years. Do we need to draft Richard Sherman? No - he is elite and rare. We do need to draft a guy that can start right away and be a Steeler for a long time.

Having said that, I am ok with this simply because I think the CB that we picked up is better and needed more than the guy we dropped.
