The link didn't work and I highly doubt Ben said he wasn't happy. It had to be taken wrong or reported wrong.

 No where in there does Ben say he was upset or unhappy with the draft.

There was a line about him being miffed. They just didn't have any direct quotes of him saying he was pissed.

Yeah read that on PFT earlier. I'm going to need to see a video of the interview. The quotes in that story do nothing to suggest he was "upset". Did Ben probably want a WR at #15? Sure, but he knows that if the Steelers made the team stronger, that is good for him. Florio just trying to rattle up Steeler Nation again.

Exactly, no quote. With the way media spins everything Ben says, I'll have to actually hear the interview, and like many other interviews I have listened to, I will probably walk away saying, non issue.

From that little bit in that link, sounds to me like Ben thought they would go WR because of all the media hype. Thats it and of course media turns it into, BEN PISSED!

Ben okie dokie doesn't play as well as Ben pissed. With that said, it would be nice if he could think before speaking. With that said, all kinds of stuff flies out of my mouth before the brain is fully engaged.

If Ben has any reason to be pissed, it is at this:

who cares what ben is pissed about anyway, if he is? so he wants a tall receiver, butler wants a LB every year too. we have 5 tall receivers in the last two years, so what's the problem? florio, shut up! bens got more weapons then he's ever had right now. ben also thinks his o-line is good. 40+ sacks a year is not good by any stretch of the imagination, nor is holding the ball and throwing dumb interceptions. if it were up to most qb's they would want 10 receivers to throw to on every play, so this is a very non- issue.

While I don't think he said he "wasn't happy with the draft" he said he was initially not happy with the draft, I think ideally Ben needs to remember that he is supposed to be a leader. If he gets asked what he thought about the draft....even if he didn't like it...you must say something like "I trust the Front Office to have gotten the players they felt fit our organization best". Even if you hate it, you must find a way to say it without acknowledging you personally didn't like it.

Look, Ben will be fine with this draft the moment he realizes that Archer takes 2-3 KOs or PRs to the house or takes a couple of screen passes for long TDs and pads his numbers. He will be fine if/when Wheaton and Bryant turn into 2 key pieces of this passing offense in the next year. He will be fine watching Tuitt and Shazier create pressure and turnovers giving him a short field to work with.

Ben, next time you are asked a question just THINK about how to say it with a positive spin.

Didn't see that anywhere in that article. Thats just Florios spin on it. Notice how he goes into the Hines Ward incident, Florio is just being a dick and stirring the pot.

While Alan Robinson started the whole thing, Florio lives in Steelers Country. He is an admitted lifelong Vikings fan but he knows how to stir up Steelers fans.

A lot of people were upset immediately after the Steelers chose Shazier in the first round, instead of a CB.

It sounds like Ben was just saying his initial emotional reaction, after having weeks of built up expectations. That is hardly the same as being not happy after having more time to think about it. (Kind of like Christmas, getting a better gift but not the one that you were expecting.)

I must need glasses, Ive looked at it twice, I dont see that quote anywhere.

These are the only quotes from Ben:

“I got caught up in doing what I always say not to do, and that’s listen to the media,”

“[The Steelers] obviously have their agenda, the things they want, and they got two guys that they felt can help this team.”

He does a good job of it!

The first sentence it said he wasn't happy when they didn't use the #15 pick on a WR. I'm sure the reporter is trying to make something out of nothing. I really don't care.

I was going to reply but I see Blast is pretty much speaking my mind for me, so I will refrain. No need for two of us spouting the same stuff. So from here on out in this thread, whatever Blast says and a +1 for me.

    Thanks BF.

What's strangely missing from this thread is board members talking about how they like it when Ben speaks his mind and how refreshing it is that he doesn't censor himself like there were last season when he started talking to the media and they were spinning it out of control. I have no doubt that he probably did say something like what the reporter wrote but like usual it was Ben being cute with the media and not getting that they aren't your friends they are there first and foremost for a story so they can sell papers and if they don't like what you are telling them they will make up something that they do like such as "Ben unhappy with Steeler's draft class"
