As long as it feels good, shouldnt be a problem, unless its sticking out at an angle that will deflect the ball :lolol:

On a serious note, where the heck were the trainers? Why was no one monitoring his recovery, making sure he was doing the proper things for it to heal correctly? That kind of pisses me off.

they may have done their jobs but it sounds like he didn't take the advice. even the doctors told him to move it. I loved where they said it now bends where it shouldn't ewwww! shudder. :smiley1::cool:

I think we need to hope for Bryant to be our #2 WR, because I just don't see Wheaton being that guy. I think he can help, I just don't think he'll ever be a huge contributor like Brown is and Bryant can be.

He's a grown man, he shouldn't need a babysitter. He needs people to tell him what he needs to do (which it sounds like they did), but actually doing it is on him. The trainers can't be phoning him at home every day asking him if he's doing his rehab. That's on him

No, he's their property and they should be examining that finger weekly to make sure their investment is recovering accordingly. Wheaton even said their was a miscommunication.

Unless the surgery was in the off season but I was under the impression he got it down during the season last year, and if thats the case, they should have been monitoring it.

I'm not absolving Wheaton but as I said, they should have been monitoring it. No one was looking at it? Making sure he was doing what he was supposed to? Its only a pinky but its still physical therapy. He's their investment, keep on top of that ****.

Maybe its the second one that was for the pinky, he broke 2 fingers I believe.

People are seriously over-optimistic about Bryant. I loved the pick but he's incredibly raw, and he is fast but I don't see a Wallace-like deep threat. MB will need to be a better route runner to get open at the next level. If he catches 20-30 balls with 4 touchdowns this year I think that'd be a great rookie season for him.

Don't sleep on Wheaton. He was a steal where the Steelers got him. He has all the tools, he just needs to stay healthy.

I was under the impression it was after the season. When Colbert spoke about it at the combine, it sounded like the 2nd surgery had just happened.

I agree. About the most I expect from MB is being used in the redzone. I am much more confident in Wheatons abilities at this point in time.

they are both huge unkowns really. Wheaton didn't see the field much last year and when he did he didn't look like anything special.

Yes but I meant as far as their college film, Wheaton is a much better route runner. He also has a year under his belt, regardless of playing time, hes familiar with the playbook. Lets not forget that Wheaton impressed in preseason, it's just tough to catch with broken fingers which is why his work during the seasons was poor. I still like his skill set and what he can bring to the table.

it was after the season. I guess I didn't word it properly. from the depot article it didn't sound like it just happened. he also took the blame for not working it enough and keeping it immobile. scar tissue built up and the second surgery happened to fix that but didn't do much good. screws in the joint and it doesn't bend where it should bend. which is pretty yuck and send chills up the spine. as I said ewww! LOL:lolol::cool:

I wouldn't make too much out of this. Kids say things in interviews, much of the time, they're just trying to be humble. It's unfortunate that his finger got so mangled, but luckily it wasn't his thumb. It sounds like he misunderstood what he was supposed to be doing. Who knows, though.

    From the Trib article:
During his post-London layoff, there was a miscommunication of sorts, and Wheaton said he thought he was supposed to keep his finger immobilized. In retrospect, he should have been exercising it, he said, to keep the scar tissue from building up.

Wheaton doesn't blame anyone involved in the operation or his recovery except himself.
“The surgeon did a great job, but the rehab, it was on me. I should have been pushing it a lot more than I was,” he said. “I got pretty complacent in where I was with my rehab and thinking, “It's just my pinkie,” and not giving it as much time (to heal) as it needed.”

that's as bad as those feet pictures that that BF creeped out BFT with. LOL where the heck is that little guy anyway? yea those types of things shouldn't be on WR's, they should be on old crusty offensive and defensive linemen. by the way, did you ever see tunch's finger? again ewww. that stuff doesn't usually bother me, but ew. always ready for tea time I guess.:lolol::cool:

Everything I have learned about Wheaton says he is humble, I'm sure he is just trying not to point fingers but who knows just what exactly was explained to him.

Unless you are familiar with breaks and such, you most likely wouldn't know about scar tissue build up. I can't blame him if he didn't know about that.

I don't know if anything is as bad as that feet pic, creeped even me out but just had to do that to blount :lolol:
