Thanks for the refresher. I completely forgot about that. I've read some of those crackpot theory posts before, and some of them are pretty damn plausible. Others...not so much. :)

I saw that a little while ago and had a good laugh.

Hodor is actually one of my favorite characters. That scene at Craster's was painful.

Ray, I'm a bit lost reading this statement. I thought Locke is Hoat posing as a new recruit.

Not quite. He never was Hoat. His name was always Locke. He was a new character taking the place of Vargo Hoat. But yes. He's at the wall as an infiltrator now.

I was thinking about it, and I wouldn't be surprised at all if GRRM ends up telling the story through the Others' point of view at some point, and ultimately makes you uncomfortable with your feelings towards them.

I'd say that the odds are better than even on that bet.

She said it, and then they BOTH went to sleep. Some big brass ones on both of them.

Hilarious. I've not seen that before. If I start calling McCullers "Hodor" would the name stick?

I have to think that was the most gruesome death on the show to date. Just wow. As a side, I couldn't stop thinking about Mandy Patinkin in the Princess Bride during that scene.

Good thing for the Mountain the Viper's "squire" kept his blades so clean with that rag...

    Exactly what I was thinking.

I'm gonna miss him. I think I liked him even better in the TV series than the books.

Definitely agree that one was the worst. I can't believe they showed it and I can't believe they panned out and showed it again.

Wow. So many changes from the books tonight. I can usually go along with them, but I'm not happy about a couple character deaths that did. not. happen. in the books. In fact, they're still alive!

As soon as Grenn went to defend the gates I said "NO! Don't give him the Donal Noye role!" But they did. Heroic? Yes. But Grenn is meant to survive that battle.

    And Pyp? Whatever.

At least they didn't kill Tormund off. He's an awesome character in the books and his work is not yet done. I was worried about that.

The battle was nowhere near as epic as the books, but still pretty damned good for a TV budget. And better than Blackwater. Can't wait for next week. Just don't change the events! ;):stogie:

Changes aside, that was an epic episode. Just amazingly done IMO. I realized I'd been standing up the entire time after about 40 minutes.

Ser Alliser fought rather valiantly last night.

Yep. Alliser might be a prick, but he has cajones. He fought like a boss and was screaming to let him back in the fight even as they were dragging him to safety. Then again, I always had a grudging respect for Thorne. I won't go into book spoilers, but I'm glad they didn't kill him off.
