Beginning in 2015 in the open endzone, Art Rooney II said it will be good for the fans who have been on the waiting list. I have to go there one day to see a game, a coworker of mine also a Steelers fan went and she had a blast.

Hopefully this will increase the noise level. Hate seeing the noise of our fans escape into the vistas of the 'burgh!

Boooo the great thing about the ketchup bottle is caused by the open end. I wonder how many games the steelers have won because its futile to go for a field goal past 50 yards there.

I've been on the waiting list for about 10 years now. I doubt I even get a shot, I know people that got on the waiting list in 1996 and finally just got a shot recently at getting seats.

Until they get seriously competetive, you
will continue to see MT seats.Especially
    when the weather turns cold.

:this!: And it has nothing to do with people being bandwagon fans or fairweather fans. To me, its a matter of shelling out 600.00 for a game when they arent competitive or just staying home and watching the game for "free". I will still be cheering them on..just not in person.

You're probably right but they were in the playoff hunt down to the very last game, if I lived there, I'd be at the game cheering them on, thats for damn sure.

Speaking of, if there are any season ticket holders here that don't like the weather come Nov 30 vs the Saints and are looking to sell their tickets, give me a shout

You know, I'm actually okay with some of the noise escaping the stadium. I love the open end and the view you get of the city in the backdrop. If you want to add more seats, make another section above the 500 level (how you do that I have no idea, I'm not the engineer).
As for the empty seats, a lot of people never even go to their seats. They hang out on the ramps or the concourse and watch from there.

It's actually a pretty good vantage point too depending on where your seat actually is.

People are not stupid, they know what they want
to see and PAY for. The Rooney's better start
paying attention. Really need to put an exciting
product on the field. I know what do they care,
officially sold out for years. Well it matters
when you see 8 to 10 thousand MT seats.
There is only so much disposable income to go
    around.

Or maybe games just start getting blacked out, then you won't be watching from home either.

most of those seats whether you saw people in them or not were already paid for. it's not like they ate 10,000 seats unpaid for.

but again, where are they going to put the smokey bar-b-que? I'm worried. LOL:cool:

There's nothing more pathetic than these teams that black games out. If they want people at the games, make it worth their while, don't force them. Field a competitive team, lower ticket prices, lower concessions, etc. Don't screw your fans over because they don't have the money to attend games

Interesting. I have been on the list since 1997. I received a survey asking how much I would pay for Personal Seat License. According to the Trib.... "The deal will allow the Steelers to sell personal seat licenses on the new seats."

I may speak for many not in that area, when I see empty seats it's mind boggling to me. Empty seats @ a Steelers home game? Never thought...

If I were there I would be @ the games. Rain, sleet, or hail I'd be there and loving it! We fly, bus, drive, hotel, motel it and wrap ourselves up just to experience the "home" deal. Look @ what we're willing to pay to make it happen and compare with being local.

You get your behinds in those seats and start pounding with your feet or give up the seats to us.

Oh, and uh, Happy Memorial Day!

    LOL

The guy who works next to me was telling me that his Uncle is a season ticket holder for the Vikings and was recently contacted about his season tickets. The price was going up from 2900 to 3700. He said that wasn't that bad then they tried to sell him some PSL and wanted 10k for them at which point he said no and hung up the phone.

I'm hoping the next 3000 seats go to individuals and not companies. But I guess if you are on the list it won't matter. When I was at 3 rivers, I sat around the same people game after game for what, 30 years? Great fans. Now I am surrounded by people who had the tickets given to them from some company. They rarely cheer, they come and go repeatedly during the game and if either the weather or the team is poor, they don't show up at all.

When you have the corporate type they may not even know who the steelers are playing, nor do they care. Its a social event,oh look at me I have company tickets. This is what gets me, most of the people that go to these games don't have a clue about football or passion about football that these board members have. That is a shame
because it didn't use to be like that, avg working people use to be able to go to the games,
now you need to take out a second mortgage.
Are the PSL in effect for these 3000 seats?
They should be, it would not be fair to the other
season ticket holders who had to pony up the PSL money for their seats.

I have to think the PSL will apply to all. First, that is what will pay for the construction . Second, it would sure be flipping the bird to the other people who bought PSLs.

As an FYI, when they opened Heinz Field, not all seats required a PSL. Rooneys didn't want to screw season ticket holders from 3 Rivers. I don't remember the exact facts, but any season ticket holder at 3 Rivers was quarantined a seat at Heinz Field at no additional cost. They just weren't the best seats or necessarily as good as you had.

I just got my letter in the mail. Been on the list since November 1995. They are charging PSL's for the new seats. There are 2 separate types of seats. General admission seats which have a $4000.00 PSL and $97.00 for tickets per game. Then there are Club Level seats which have a $5000.00 PSL but are $250.00 to $275.00 (to be determined) for tickets per game. Seems to be about 1/3 of the seats are GA and 2/3 are club level. From what I can see club level just gets you a better seat and access to the club lounge. I have until July 25th to let them know how many and what I want. I think I'm just going to go for 2 General Admission seats. It's been a long wait!
