Oops, spelled his name wrong.... anyway, I have looked at some highlights of this guy and he looks good, big mobile and leads his receivers well.

I wish him luck. I'd say there's 0% chance he gets the #3 job and less of a chance he gets the #2 job. :smiley1:
I would like to see what he can do in pads, though.

Not only a winner but he is also a student of the game and super smart football wise. He has to learn to play under center.

All I can go off of is his highlights from youtube. I remember watching them after we drafted him and thinking thank god he had Justin Brown to go up and catch some of those passes. I think his receivers made him look better.

the guy threw for near 17,000 yards in college. 3,000 which is a very good year for most qb's would only be 12,000 in 4 years. he averages over 4,000 yards a season. you don't just do that without some skills at oklahoma. wow.

I agree, when Landry took over as a freshman for an injured Sam Bradford he looked pretty overwhelmed. Once he settled down he went onto have a pretty good career at Oklahoma.

Kind of like saying thank God we had Swann and Stalworth to make Bradshaw look better?

Have to agree, Mac, as you well know, I hated taking a QB with that pick but Jones is no way near as bad as he is made out to be.

Jones played against better competition, and he just needs some time to develop in the NFL.

Some of these guys would have cut Bradshaw after he was benched in favor of Joe Gilliam!

    i know.

i do like kay too. he was one i was hoping we bring to camp. hey ya never know.

if joe gilliam had his head screwed on right bradshaw may have never seen the field again. whole different story possibly. LOL

that guy could wing it. it was always rumored back then that he threw so hard , he'd cut guys hands open.

heck bradshaw used to get benched for hanratty too. chuck would yank him, he didn't care. i could see it now when ben has one of THOSE games, and MT benching him for jones. these guys heads would explode. LOL definately myron. no offense myron.:smiley1::cool:

In this age of instant gratification, Bradshaw's career may have been over before it ever got started. He struggled mightily his first couple of years in the league. Thankfully, he played in an era where coaches and fans gave players a chance before writing them off. Hence Landry Jones is a wasted pick after a few typical rookie struggles in camp and pre-season last year. Reeeeeeediculous!

Hey, I just call it like I see it, Blast. And I see an unfair criticism of a young QB that went through the rookie struggles in training camp and preseason common to most rookie quarterbacks. Let's see if he progresses any in his second season before we write him off as a waste. And "hard on just about everyone else" is a bit over the top, don't you think?

Don't get too excited about Kay I read that he already had 3 knee surgeries, he's just a arm for training camp if he even stays around for that long.

I may be a little late to this party, but I'm a 2011 UC grad so I've seen a lot of Kay.

Kay was supposed to get overtaken several times and always seemed to win out the job. He's a good pocket passer with good size, and does a lot of things well (but not great). He has some athleticism, and is a pretty accurate passer.

His biggest issue is decision making. Threw a lot of dumb picks.

I do hope he latches onto the practice squad. I could see him being a solid backup down the road.

Kay has a lot to work on if he wants to make the squad. His footwork is terrible, throwing mechanics and WR progressions need work and makes a lot of bone headed decisions. He's got the strength though.
