    Why did we not sign?

[h=3]CB: Ciante Evans, Nebraska[/h] The buzz: Evans, not fellow Husker Stanley Jean-Baptiste, was a first-team All-Big Ten pick in 2013. Evans also was a first-team all-league selection in 2012 and was a three-year starter for Nebraska (Jean-Baptiste, who went in the second round, started just one season). But Evans' size (5-10, 193) bothered some teams, as did his lack of speed. His ball skills also are questionable.
Status: Evans remained unsigned through Sunday afternoon.

    THis is from NFL.com.

    Just curious.

Well, according to what you just posted he's small, slow and can't catch so maybe that has summat to do with it?

The better question is why has nobody else signed him.

I think our approach to coverage is going to change this coming year. I don't think we will be using 4 CBs all that much. Maybe on occasion, but I bet it is rare.

    McLendon/Heyward
    Worilds/Timmons/Shazier/Jones
    Ike/Allen/Gay/Troy/Mitchell

There may be occasions when we bring in someone like Shamarko as an extra cover guy in case they go 5 wide or something, but I think the point in drafting Shazier is they felt like they played too much dime last year and they don't want to do it again. They needed someone to stay on the field for all 3 downs.

The Steelers already have enough bad cornerbacks.
