I think if Roby falls to around 10 we could.

i've always had a problem with it. i'm not just pulling it out of nowhere because the Steelers drafted yet another front-7 guy in the 1st round. it's dumb.

but i guess it's wrong for me to suggest that drafting another LB instead of a position they could actually use help in to build some actual depth. i guess the passing game isn't as important to stop as the slowly-disappearing running game in this changing NFL.

it's like, around here, you have to love and trust every move the infallible Steelers front office personnel makes or you're too tightly wound, angry, bitter, etc. people aren't allowed to have differing viewpoints anymore.

Me too. Thought his size would make people pass and we'd get a true steal in the second.

Yeah I thought same thing. I guess when Chip Kelly likes someone he gets them. Most had him as a 3rd rounder.

Or we just got a ILB that can out run any TE in the league.

good, now they just have to throw the ball to outside WRs. that LB is really going to help their pass coverage in those deep situations.

maybe that's just not important. i don't know why i think it is...

I don't think we have the picks to move up, would have to be early picks next year...hope/don't see that happening

I am somewhat warming up to the Shazier pick. I just think the Steelers were kind of stuck. Fuller was who they wanted at CB, but he was gone. Odell Beckham the WR was a possible choice for the Steelers but he was picked by the Giants. So Colbert picked who they saw as the best guy on their board. Guy seems like an unbelievable athlete, my biggest knock is he seems pretty small, can he shed blocks? Also he is an OLB, can he play inside? Last time the Steelers tried to fit a guy into a position, they put Ziggy Hood a 4-3 guy into a 3-4 and it never worked. So I am very skeptical, but that speed is enticing and he could be a guy that gives them some good lateral coverage against runs and in coverage of backs and TEs.

As for the Browns pick Manziel - I think you have to give them some credit. It is a very risky pick, but it could have huge upside and the fan base needs some excitement. Also the Steelers have benefited from selecting a unorthodox QB in Ben, maybe this is the shot in the arm the Browns need - it sure adds a possible angle to the Steelers/Browns rivalry. He is cocky, probably will talk smack, and Ben is already on record saying he thinks he might get killed.

Good thing for the Steelers is that their LB's defend the passing game, too.

I don't see us moving up in the second. Too many options there to give up future picks (IMO).

I'm warming to the pick and I'm hoping he can make a difference early. A play maker anywhere on the defense can't hurt can it?

ok, so are you suggesting that they don't need CBs? then why even sign/draft any CBs or safeties?

**** it, just draft LBs the rest of the draft. maybe throw in a kicker in round 5 or something. just put your excess LBs on the corners!!!!! nobody will know how to play against it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good pick by the Panthers. Benjamin is a perfect fit for them.

I wanted a corner too, but you have to remember the type of corners the Steelers take. Dennard is not a zone guy, Fuller was, but he was taken. Also, it is a passing league, but a lot of that passing is becoming more involved with using the TE and using slot receivers....so it isn't necessarily a throw it 20 yards downfield each play. So you need speek and LB who can play in that system. Maybe Shazier can be that guy.
