IMO there was no bad pick between Mauro, Mitchell and Schofield. If we get any one of those guys in the 5th round in the real draft, I'd be pretty pleased.

I think anyone out there with kids should be trying to track him down for a kids birthday party. He sure looks like he loves origami.

I agree, had a tough time deciding between those three, in the end I picked CB just because I think its the biggest need and feel all 3 are around the same value but still like the Mauro pick.

I am curious about the Mitchell supporters - have read a couple scouting reports that were not very flattering. Any thoughts on his game would be appreciated!

Can you imagine if in the real draft we scored on dennard , tuitt smith & Mauro what it would do for our defense in 2015!

He is someone I liked on tape and actually even a month or two ago carried a 2nd or 3rd round grade. Now I am seeing 6th round grades. Just wondering if there's something going on with him that the public doesn't know about.

Because they're stupid, NB. Kidding aside, I can't see any reasonable explanation for that. He's a solid 3rd rounder to me.

A couple months back Greg Peshek, the guy who wrote all those Rotoworld metrics articles, was pimping him pretty hard on Twitter. He still does from time to time. For a while I was wondering if he was just a huge Ducks fan or possibly his agent. Anyway, I watched about every Oregon game I could, and I can see why he isn't up there in the top 10 corners, but he's a solid zone corner who could probably start his first year in the right environment. He doesn't "pop" on tape, needs to add some strength, and isn't very physical in the run game, but if he slipped past the 3rd, he'd be a great value.

Yeah his 4.63 probably raised some flags. But like you say, looks like a pretty good off-man/zone corner. He's definitely quicker than fast. Pretty sure he did well in some agility drills. My biggest knock on him, is that for his size he has short arms and small hands. Still, in the 5th round, he is great value.

I agree on Mitchell's tape being pretty good, especially for a 5th or 6th rounder. I also really like Cockrell, who we are apparently bringing in this week. He also shows very good zone awareness, and can be an early contributor in the right scheme. I absolutely love the depth at corner in this draft. We picked the right year to be looking to draft 2 or more corners.

Steelers comp pick in the 5th is quickly approaching, just thought I would get the ball rolling on some names:

    CB Ricardo Allen, Purdue
    CB Aaron Colvin, Oklahoma
    RB Davonte Freeman, Florida St
    OLB Howard Jones, Shepherd
    OG Brandon Linder Miami

Definitely looking at either CB or OL with this pick.

Another name to throw out, because he has third round potential:

Ahmad Dixon, Safety, Baylor. He gets one vote from me.

After looking at Michael Schofield (OT, Michigan), Ricardo Allen (CB, Purdue), and Bennett Jackson (CB, Notre Dame), I've decided on:

    Bennett Jackson, CB, Notre Dame

He has the size and athleticism ideal for the position with possible room to improve, since he was recently moved to CB from WR. Team captain with solid character and special teams experience. Flip a coin between him and Allen (or some of the other corners left), but I think he has more room to improve.

Some of the names I would consider based on remaining talent (in no particular order)

    Devonta Freeman RB FL St
    Chris Davis CB Auburn
    Ricardo Allen CB Purdue
    Brock Vereen SS Minnesota
    Michael Schofield OT Michigan

I'll put a vote in later when others start deciding what they want.

It's close, but in terms of value, my vote is Brock Vereen, SS, Minnesota.

For some reason I thought Schofield had been picked since the last Steelers vote. Guess not. My vote goes for:

    Michael Schofield, OT, Michigan

If Britt isn't gone, he gets my vote as well. I like him a bit better than Schofield, but it's close. For some reason I thought he was gone already.

    TJ Jones WR Notre Dame

Not comfortable with Lance Moore this year, or Brandon Coleman being our only offensive pick so far...

I guess I'll go with Brock Vereen

Would prefer another CB but I guess Shark can always slide over if needed.

Close vote so far between 2 of the guys.

I'm going to be heading out in the next 30-45 min...and will be gone a few hours...so we'll do like before and I'll check in when i return later tonight and see how things stand and potentially call it then. Until then...enjoy/discuss/debate/etc haha.
