Trade Maurkice Pouncey to the Jaguars for 1st round pick?

    What if the Steelers were presented with the opportunity to trade Maurkice Pouncey to the Jaguars for their 1st round draft pick this year?

    Absolutely. I'd find it hard to believe the Jags would be stupid enough to trade a top 5 pick for a center who just came off of ACL surgery, but if they are you have to jump on it. We could get Mack, an OT, Watkins, maybe Clowney... whatever we desired.

    For the sake of this exercise, Yay.

    Would never happen though. More realistic would be maybe a 3rd rounder and for that, Id say, nay.

    no way would they make that trade but as much I would like to see him stay. I would jump on that. I wouldn't take a third but maybe a 2nd

    If the Jags were to make that offer, I'd accept it before they had a chance to come to their senses. But 1st rd picks are rarely traded for players, and even more rarely for players recovering from a torn ACL.

    Obviously we all know it wouldn't happen...especially since its a top 5 pick they have...and they a lot more needs they have to fill (QB/etc)...and so on.

    But as others have said...for the sake of the question...

    As one Stone Cold SOB used to say "OOOH HELL YEAH!!". I like Pouncey as much as the next guy...but that would be too good to pass up...Wallace/Velasco came in last year and played well...either could step in I think and take over. That would give the Steelers a ton of options. Pick a top player and then still have the #15 pick...they could trade down and get more picks...you name it.

    How about their 2015 2nd rounder? Teams like that always think they'll finish well and be picking in the bottom half of the round. We'd probably get #34. Still think it'd never happen, considering the injury.

    Absolutely yay, but the Jags wouldn't give up the 3rd overall pick for Pouncey. I agree with Snack, the 2015 2nd rounder might be the better option. I would have t o think about that though.

    Actually, a trade like this could be one of those trades with a pick in this year's draft, and a conditional pick in 2015, with round based on something like # of games played, or pro-bowl election, or some other criteria.
