If anyone is upset about this signing, you have to realize it's completely risk free.

Could we cut him in camp without penalty?

Yes. Well, aside from the $65,000 dead money from the signing bonus.

Shake your head until it falls off for all I care. I hardly ever show disappointment with what they do, I wasn't thrilled with this signing.

And calling him decent is debatable.

HE IS BETTER THAN C CARTER! DO YOU WANT CARTER ON THE FIELD? I DON'T! Yes, I'm yelling btw. Honestly, if he doesn't work out it will cost us 65,000. If he makes the team he is a spell back LB and a ST starter. Like field position isn't important, and I believe we lost Curtis Brown and he was solid on ST, which has been an issue for us for a long time. For all of you in love with Harrison we can still sign him before camp begins. If this makes us a playoff team, than WELCOME MR MOATS

I know we can still sign JH, I said as much. He's the same player as Carter, please, don't sing Moats any praise.

Don't worry BF I'm in the same boat. I really hope that I'm wrong. Everything I've read said he's versatile but not outstanding. He is more ILB than anything not exactly the position some of "us" were "clamoring" for. Initially I was more dumbfounded by the signing but if it means maybe bumping Sylvester or K. Wilson I could live with it. If it means not signing Harrison then I'm pissed which I'm pretty sure is the same way you are feeling. Like TTF said its a low risk move. They describe him as 2 down LB ,I thought we already had one of them already, with more upside( V.Williams),but whatever. I just don't know how he's going to learn and make a impact in Lebeaus "complex" defense in one season. We shall see. Competition is good. I'm not ready to cry over spilt milk.............not until camp starts anyway.:smiley1:

You are probably right, even know I realize they could still sigh JH, my feelings probably stem from that. As I said, I very rarely disagree with the team moves, and when I do, I usually come around after mulling it over. We'll see how this plays out.

I think when it comes to the whole learning the system thing...I do not think its as big of a deal for players who've been in the league for a bit compared to rookie type players. As I mentioned him before but Brandon Johnson came in and got some snaps and did well when called upon in the system. So did K. Fox...and others I'm sure...but those are 2 recent examples that are equal to this signing. While Johnson was only with them for a year...K Fox was there longer...and if this guy could be at that or near that level...it will be a solid signing. I have no problem whatsoever in bringing in much needed depth at a position of weakness. Yes he's not a big named/superstar/stud player...but not many depth players will be. I trust in the Steelers when it comes to small signings like this...as they generally work out decently.

He might just need a change of scenery and play in a different system, who knows he could thrive I like the signing solid depth. I read somewhere Moats is going to be a backup at OLB not ILB they don't have anyone besides Carter at OLB.

yea 70 tackles 5th on the team, 6 sacks and 2 forced fumbles. if moats is coming in to stabilize the inside and add a body with some experience to the outside I don't have a problem with moats. if Timmons were to go down we need a vet in there since foote is rightfully gone. JH could still play a role on the outside and moats as his relief. I'd love to have both here. 4 outside guys and 4 inside guys. I don't think it would put drafting one out of the question either. we have kept 10 before.
