Seriously? Wtf there is a long time before the seasons begins. We have 4 really good weapons on offense right now. Elite WR check elite QB check very good TE check and a young up incoming RB check. That right there is a lot more then some teams have.

 

every year people panic that the FO is out there signing every free agent available. that is not how they do business.

the way they do it has worked pretty well. sure i would love to see them go out and sign the "sexy" free agents, but the fact is they just dont have the money.

we will see them go out and get some guys that no one else wanted and a couple of them will make an impact next year.

it seems as though they are gonna rely heavily on the draft this year. they grabbed a couple guys early on in the free agency and filled a couple holes, but they lost a lot of guys and now they have more holes to fill.

we will see what happens over the next few months, but i dont expect to see them sign any big names.

the biggest signings we will see is probably them bringing Plax back and also bringing back Harrison.

 

Agree with all of this, except I wouldn't be overjoyed to see Plax back.

 

I don't want to see any panic yet. I would rather be patient than bring in the wrong guy. We have spots open which are clearly showing our needs:


Offense:

QB: Ben, Gradkowski, Landry

RB: Bell, ???, ???, W. Johnson (2 guys for depth, not a starter)

WR: A. Brown, Wheaton, Moye, J. Brown, ???, ??? (1 or 2 guys depending upon what they think about the youth, either a #2 or #3 WR probably determined by Wheaton)

TE: Miller, Spaeth, ????

Oline: Beachum, Foster, Pouncey, DeCastro, Gilbert, Adams, Whimper, Wallace, Embernate, Hubbard (Velasco could also be signed when healthy, not all of these guys can make it)

Defense:

DLs: Heyward, Arnfelt, N. Williams, McLendon, Thomas, Fangupo, ??? (Need 1 starter here probably, maybe one for depth)

LB: Timmons, Williams, Worilds, Jones, Carter, Garvin, Spence, Wilson, ????, ???? (TBD, we really don't know what they think of the young kids, do they like them enough to just go with them?

S: Troy, Thomas, Mitchell, Allen (none, Golden could be in mix if we keep only 5 CBs)

CB: Ike, Gay, Allen, ???, ???, ??? (2 or 3 depending on safety, need 1 draft pick to change)

The panic is not baseless. There's a reason why a team coming off of back to back 8-8 seasons doesn't have money to spend. Kevin Colbert has mismanaged the heck out of our cap and our roster.

I see it as we were an 8-8 football team and let go 8-8 players. We'll see what happens.

 

Contributing to last season 0-4 start were injuries to Pouncey, Bell, and Miller so I'm not buying the doom and gloom. Let's wait until after the draft then panic.

At least we are not Carolina. I'd be jumping off a bridge if I were a Panther fan. They've had an absolutely awful off-season thus far. And Cam just had ankle surgery yesterday. Will take 4 months to rehab.

So instead of busting up an 0-4/8-8, we should keep what isnt working. Its time for some new younger blood. We are most dangerous when we have a bunch of pieced together, make shift, no name, with nothing to lose guys. Exhibit A is our OL at the end of the season.

When I dont know most of the guys on the field or I go 'who the heck is THAT'. I know good things are coming.

Im excited about the next 1-3 yrs.

My uncle is a season ticket holder and one of the guys at work is a fan. Those fans had a 'superbowl' year. They are so happy with last years season they are still on cloud 9.

 

The talk radio around here is trying to calm everyone down, but many of my friends are wondering why they are taking multiple steps back one year after winning the division and going 12-4.
