Shouldn't come as a surprise, but he left without a contract per Bouchette.

Yeah. Bouchette said he and Moore both left without contracts. A few minutes ago NFL Network said he's coming back tomorrow.

I wanted MJD back when he was drafted...he's been a star on a crap team. He DOES have mileage on him. However...i think he could be a solid backup/spot duty guy. I'm not sure who else is out there that could be a starter if needed and I'd be OK with...

Who's let out there right now...

    Blount (not bad)
Michael Bush (not sure if he's what he used to be or not)
Moreno (a lot considered him a borderline bust until Manning got there)
Andre Brown (was decent in spot duty in NY)
Felix Jones (I didnt mind him...though a lot hate on him...and most of these others could be an upgrade over him)

Thats all I could find off the list that could be a solid backup...play a handful of snaps a game...or step in if due to injury.

They could still draft one late...and also I'd bring back LSH once healthy

Id take him but wouldn't break the pocket change in the transaction. He'd damn sure be serviceable... Maybe even someone's number 1 for a year or 2 but that's speculation as Jax has ran him into the ground as their lone premiere threat. It's a gamble signing but if it don't break the bank it's worth a shot.

I think if he is even a shadow of himself than pocket Hercules would add an interesting layer to red zone play.

He's brutal to take down in a pinch but he maybe a bit out of our price range. Not by much because I think they have a few more restructures in them and if these two side are close in money and want they'll find the cash.
Money may not be the biggest factor for him as an NFL running back that has basically languished in Jax, is looking at age and money made already, and gets a shot to play for a storied franchise in his profession.

When it's a mil or two away I think that still matters to some, maybe many.

I think all the Steelers can say to him at this point is "we really want to sign you, would you be willing to hang out until after June 1 when we have the money to sign you?"

    Would MJD wait that long?

A running back with 8 years in the league and 1900 carries is a far cry from a back up wide receiver.
