Per Jason La Canfora, the Steelers will host Lance Moore this week.

would he be an upgrade over cotchery? I have seen him play some with saints. I don't like watching them much so don't know a lot about him

Just what we need another midget WR lol. If Cotchery leaves they should draft 2 WR's this draft is deep at the position.

I'm a little surprised people have such problems with his height.

Totally agree I want a big guy as much as the next but it seemed to me last year Brown was almost unrecoverable.

I like Lance Moore, and have since he was a draft prospect. However, I believe that he would come in and basically play the same role that Cotch has played, and between the two I'd rather just resign Cotch since he and Ben already have solid chemistry. If Cotch does move on, Moore would be a nice addition though.

It's not that I have a problem with his height. It's just that we have far bigger needs. Lance Moore isn't going to make or break this team, but no defensive ends will.

I like Moore but we need a steady number 2. We'll see what Wheaton and co. have in the near future, but we need a sideline guy. AB has become exceptional but isn't a go up high for the ball kinda guy and we don't need another runt trying to stretch the field. Size doesn't always matter, but if the team is in love with them, then at least get some kids who will go up to fight for the ball.

i mentioned moore a week ago. he was the #2 until he got hurt last year for 3 weeks and kenny stills took his spot. 2012 he went over 1,200 yards receiving for the saints. he was making over 3 mil. a year and was due a 500k bonus when released. 9 years in the league and 30 years old.

I don't think Moore is a bad option for a slot guy in the #3/4 role. If Wheaton is everything the FO thinks he can be, and we draft a BIG WR in the 2nd round, then I don't think his size should be much of a factor. Get open....Ben will find you.

NO it is not an upgrade over cotch.. its a downgrade.. hes not worth the plane ticket in to talk to the steelers much less a contract offer.. now glenn will slam me for being negative and make it sound like if we sign the 5 ft 9 or whatever he is moore we will be SB bound.. lol

Here is how I think the Moore deal is going to play out. As of right now we have a lot of unknowns and a bunch of potential at WR. I think the Steelers are going to have him in see what he has got and play wait and see. I view this as the same situation as when Cotchery came here. If he comes in and plays great awesome if the young guys step up and beat him out even better. At the end of the day if he signs it will be an extremely team friendly deal. Signing with the Steelers gives him an opportunity to be a #2 WR or he could fall all the way to number 4 as Cotchery did.

If he's healthy, I'd be happy having him whether we re-sign Cotchery or not.
