Woodley has a dysfunctional body, he'll fit right in. Al Davis is dead so maybe the raiders will get things straighten out

Mark Davis seems to be carrying on the tradition. They now have tons of cap money but he is still threatening to move the team without a new stadium the town of Oakland can't afford when he had an offer to share the new one with the 49ers.

After throwing up in my mouth, I realized that he's been playing like a raider (rather hasn't been playing like a steeler) for awhile now. Good riddance!

Now Woodley can show off his shoe collection to a new group of people, he'll probably get them stolen from a gang.

Players that go to Oakland fade off into the western sunset and never get heard about again. He'll fit right in as he has already been practicing this since signing his big contract.

Well I wish him the best. He is one of my favorite Steelers and was nothing but a class act while he was here. It is unfortunate because age wise he should be in his prime right now, I never thought he would be let go this early. When healthy he is easily better than Worilds has ever been so Jason has big shoes to fill.

My thoughts too. Good luck Wood (except against Pittsburgh of course)!

As a side note...I'm curious to see how he does going back to a DE. While not hugely different from what he's been doing...still different enough to make me wonder how he'll do and such. If him and Tuck stay healthy/etc for Oakland...they could have a decent tandem of pass rushers.

Is that before or after they've handed critical losses to the Steelers over the past few years?

Also, if the reported numbers are correct, $12 million over 2 years? You didn't want to renegotiate with the Steelers and took $12 mill over 2 years?

In another thread I mentioned those recent losses to that sorry team... Doesn't change the fact that they're sorry, it just means that we were really sorry on those occasions. I hope he tanks, I enjoyed what he did here and own his jersey to prove it... Too bad he couldn't prove his worth after cashing in. Can't stand folks who take who take merit for granted and try to cruise by on old accomplishments. He got fat, rich and lazy... And yeah appears to not have shown much loyalty to the FO

Wow. A lot of hate in this thread. I'm surprised a pulled calf outweighs a Super Bowl win to so many. Well, not that surprised...

Good luck, Woodley. Get healthy, and enjoy not dropping into coverage.

I wish Woodley nothing but good luck. When he played well he was fun to watch and I'd be lying if I didn't admit that I was disappointed when his production dropped off. Never really mattered to me whether it was is work ethic or bad luck. On a side note...Thanks Snack for your link. I enjoyed watching the video.

Hate? Are you kidding me?! I love that guy and what he can do when he's healthy! Problem is he came in and was able to drop into coverage early in his career, but that dropped off as the injuries mounted. So, instead of revamping what he was expected to do, they kept putting him those positions. I've got to figure out what to do with the one authentic jersey I've ever bought now!

Aye - players change and move on, but no need to forget what Woodley brought to the team, and his contributions to the defense.

Woodley use to be one of my favs but he just hasn't produced like his old self in a while. Hate to see him go but it's a business and these things happen all the time. If Worilds can come in and give us a taste of what Woodley use to bring then all's well I suppose.

Yup .. Good analogy. It's akin to a sink hole or the abyss.. And I think I read they are paying him 5 or 6 mil for 3 years ?

    Crazy

Listened to some of it. Seemed like he was kinda blaming injuries on how he was being used. He never came right out and said it but to me he seemed bitter.

    Hmmmm

No hate here, just calling it how it is.

i loved Woodley and his contributions when he was able to contribute. I think he signed himself a huge contract and slacked off a lot the last couple of seasons.

Hopefully him getting cut wakes him up and he finds the desire to beast again, because it's sad to watch these athletes get complacent after getting their pay day (reward in essence) and destroying the good faith the FO puts into their endorsement.

Yeah I know he was injured, but even he admits that some of that was on him. Anyone who knows anything about staying in shape knows that Woodley wasn't interested in doing so.

lastly, it kind of pisses me off when these guys start their "I gotta chip on my shoulder now" routine and follow it up with how good it feels to be wanted!
We all wanted him and so did the team or else they wouldn't have spent theirselves into a damn corner on the guy. Too bad he didn't respect that and now here we are... Another good one gone that left much more to be desired.

That's the reality among fans AND NFL GMs and coaches, Blast. The fact is Woodley hasn't done squat since he signed the mega contract. Laziness? Poor work ethic? Bad luck? Whatever the case he's pretty much sucked since getting paid. You can't blame some fans for being unhappy with his lack of performance especially when his own teammate apparently called his work ethic into question. I appreciate what Woodley did for the organization. It was just too short lived.
