If it wasn't for his EPIC Super Bowl Int for a TD the Steelers wouldn't even have 6 Lombardi's.

I'm sure the front office appreciates his talents more than some fans ever will.:facepalm:

I see what you did there.....lol. Simple question. Is he better than Carter? If the answer is yes ,which I think it is, then give him a 1 yr deal. The NFL is and always will be a business....no room for hurt feelings.

    It's a resounding YES!

I would bring back James tomorrow. Not as an every down LB'er but certainly they can spot play him at crucial times. He knows the system better than anyone else that would come aboard.

Look, I love Silverback. But the only way he should come back to Pittsburgh is to stand behind a podium and RETIRE AS A STEELER!

Yep. It's pathetic that some fans easily forget what former players have achieved during their time on the team.
If it wasn't for Gooddell fining the daylights off JH then he would have been in the Black n Gold last year as well IMHO. He had to tone it down way too much and it affected his ability to be the forceful player he was always determined to be. That being said I would still try and get him back. We have lost too much defensive talent this past off season.

Just having Peezy on the sidelines firing him up may be worth the ticket price alone.

And Franco Harris made a pretty good catch and run one time to beat the Raiders in a playoff game. But that doesn't mean the Steelers need to re-sign him to spell Le'Veon Bell a series or two a game.

I still think he has a lot to prove to everybody and has enough gas left in the tank to do so. He's a work out machine and he didn't start playing til later in his career.

I realize it's not a perfect comparison, but my point is at some point we've got to let the legend walk away from the game with dignity and honor. What good would it do to bring Harrison back in a backup role just to see him struggle to do the things he once mastered? I don't want to see Harrison as a sad shell of his former self. We cut ties with him last year and we've moved on as he has. I hope he retires a Steeler because he certainly deserves an esteemed place in Steeler lore.

Not interested in bringing back Harrison he's washed up. How many teams have a 35 year old backup OLB? Fans get caught up in that sentimental crap about players.

Harrison is anything but washed up. His career never really began til he was about 26. He's an off season work out machine. Unlike most of these lazy contract gobbling couch potato's.

His season in Cincinnati was at best a minimal appearance in a very certain to fail plan from the get go. It's like putting 5 big square pegs in a half the size round hole. It was never going to work. The only reason it was signed is cause JH was PO'd about the situation and Mike Brown hasn't a clue about football operations that actually take place on the field.

Anyone who says he is washed up because of a season in Cincy out of a system he wasn't acustomed to is just moronic. You clearly do not know much about the schemes of football and how it works. Harrison is a freak of nature, still strong as an ox, knows the system he run, and clearly has excelled in it. I hope he comes back and you guys have to eat your words.

Not a perfect example? It's a horrible example. Ones been retired for 30 years and would get killed if he stepped on a field today and the other is still playing and capable of killing other players on the field. JH would be more then adequate backing up our starters, he played in the wrong scheme last year, I guarantee you had they come to an agreement to keep him in Pittsburgh he would have had a better year.

Great post Blast. It was obvious he was in the wrong system last yr. Why use a draft pick on a young unproven rook when he is out there?

Well, for argument's sake, you would say for the sake of longevity... but obvs it depends on how high the draft pick is.

I would be happy to see him back, though, at the right price. By now, the refs might have forgotten that they aren't allowed to call holding any time he's on the field.

JH played in 15 games with Cincy, Zimmer had him playing inside, out of his natural outside position and he still had 2 sacks and 1 pick with 30 tackles, I think he has a year left in him to play outside, just because he signed with the bungholes doesn't mean he held any animosity for Pitt, he even got emotional in an interview when he talked about his steeler player friends and Lebeau; don't forget we have resigned players we cut before, like foote, gay and McFadden, so don't hold that against JH, if they can sign him for minimum or 1 million for 1 year, I think he could contribute and help this linebacking corp quite a bit....

I totally agree with you. I love how when the team cuts a guy its the business but if that guy goes to a rival he is a traitor.

I wouldn't mind James back at all. Still a little pissed that he tried to play and totally lost at hardball with the FO last season. But, maybe he's a little more humbled now. Either way, I know the dude can come in and be a force without a doubt.

  24. Dude he's all done, regardless of the system.
