Good for him. I'm sure we all knew he wanted to be here. I'm happy for him it's what he wanted.

He's not the player he was 3-4 years ago, but this makes me happy.

Nice to see some loyalty. I'm sure he took a major pay cut.

    We like Ike!
Remember his first deal? well 2nd. Ike said I will be a STEELER and he kept his word. He may be Clark's replacement BUT, I wouldn't mind keeping Clark for the right price

I feel that I should be ecstatic about this signing but deep down I know he still can't catch the ball when it hits him right in the hands. In other words good signing to a degree but meh'. Still can look like Chard Scott out there at times. Sometimes during the most crucial part of the game.

I don't even care about that. I'm just sick of watching him jog after opponents as they sprint through our secondary. And his tackling is headed south with the rest of his game. We've gotten in the habit of keeping these guys around until they look like old men at fantasy camp.

I know I should be happy, but sometimes it's... just time. I'm guessing that this means that our talks with the Verner camp have not been fruitful. I am also guessing that Ike is being penciled in as a starter again next season, and that we'll be looking to the draft early for an eventual replacement.

I have thought about this and the defense played better last year when they kept ike on one side and let allen play his side. I think his days of following the other teams best are over and he could be an asset as a second or third corner. I do trust the staff and front office

Not necessarily think about this Verner, Allen, Ike, and Gay. Ike would be a good nickel corner still. Think about him blitzing from the blind side. Even at his age he is probably our fastest corner. Also that's three guys that can play man defense.

It depends on the dollars, which I don't believe have been released yet. Also, I'm wondering if the deal included an extra year.

At S? It's interesting, and I think he'd be an okay fit, but with TP's extension and Thomas I don't see it.

I hope Ike isn't our fastest CB, because everyone runs away from him. If he is, that is an indictment of our secondary.

I was hoping he would get released we need playmakers in the secondary, Ike couldn't catch a beach ball if it hit him in the hands. At least they will get some salary cap relief with him sticking around and taking a pay cut. I guess this means they won't be signing a free agent CB unless they get one real cheap.

If true...wow...thats a big pay cut. Good for them and awesome by/for Ike...he stays with the team and could end up retiring a Steeler after all

Gay is our best blitzing corner.

Yes, I don't believe it myself, I used William Gay and the best in the same sentence.
