The Players Union probably argued that with the additional vulgarity rules and accidental contact it is only going to help these players try and pay Gooddell's ultimate fining $y$tem.

Super news for the Steelers! Remember when a few years ago the new TV contract numbers were forecasting to have a salary cap pushing $140 mil by now?

This is great news for our cap situation. I wonder if some owners are unhappy about having to spend more money though? I also wonder if the cap is at 132 million and a team is at the cap does that necessarily mean that much money is actually being paid out? I would guess not with the dead money.
I know your pretty knowledgeable when it comes to the cap situation.

Yeah really! I've been one of Woodleys biggest supports around here, but enough is enough already. Either get on the field or get on the road!

I'd say owners as a whole would be happier all around with a higher salary cap. The 89% cash spend limit isn't really penalized that I'm aware of. The cap is officially set at $133 Mil now, but no, it doesn't mean that much cash is being paid out.

How many players and players agents
are licking their chops like a butchers dog.
Here we go! Lets hope our additional money
    is spent wisely.
    Ben to his agent,
I will take all of that raise the NFL just gave the owners. LOL.

But with that comes Jacksonville to London, St. Louis to L.A., Buffalo to Toronto (easy move) and the Bengals will still be the Bungles.

I'm thinking more in the neighborhood of 6 years, 106-107 total. 82/83 Mil in new money. That might be a little high, but I think it's in the neighborhood.

I think that we could make that work from a cap perspective. Hopefully Ben doesn't get too focused on the "arms race"

Sounds reasonable. With the cap going up more than expected I don't see how a deal won't happen. Its going to come down to how much Ben wants to get. The Steelers are going to have to pay him what he wants unless they are willing to blow up the whole team.

I would say #7 will have the upper hand
in this negotiation. And we have to watch
KC/MT blow at another draft. Maybe they will
    get lucky this year?
