Yep. Give him a handler and an incentive-laden contract. Pay to behave.

Ebron pulled a hammy during his 40?

I was intrigued by Colt, as maybe a UDFA, but he only put up 15 on the bench press

4.60 official for ebron. More of what I was expecting and what I thought when he ran his 40 yards.

I'm happy you were right. He might be there at #15 now.. Still, only 17 TE's have ever run 4.60 or less

I wish he would have gutted it out to see him in drills, but tough to know exactly what happened to his knee. Still, we crush woodley for striking the same pose on the sideline.

I know you are big on ebron, but I still hope we pass on him if he is there at #15, which I think he will be. I think he will be a good te, I just don't know if I see a great one.

Ebron is going to be great, I have no doubts, he's a guy that teams will need to game plan around. That said, I don't think he is in the Steelers plans but I hope he is.

He seemed to pull up during his last 40 run.. I was hoping to see him catch the ball and run the routes as well

I do like the fact that Mayock feels that he'll be an impact player at the next level though. It makes me feel validated in what I see. Mayock is usually pretty good at what he does IMO.

Most of those TE's looked stiff running routes and dropped a lot of passes.

Yup, completely agree. Believe it or not, but I actually hold Mayock's viewpoint higher than my own. :lolol:

When it comes to Ebron, I think where he goes could be just as important as his skill level. I think if he goes to a team t hat likes to throw the ball, especially down the field, and isn't going to ask him to block he i s going to make out just fine.

I remember when Jimmy Graham came out, I saw a great athlete, who was completely raw that couldn't block. I didn't have him in the Top 3 rounds. Now look at him. Even Gronkowski, I thought he was simply too big and not quite athletic enough to ever be as productive as he has turned out to be.

Obviously teams are looking for creative ways to get TEs more involved and exploit mis-matches. That being said, I find it hard t o believe he is in the Steelers plans @ #15.

We have Heath (a great balanced TE) and Spaeth (a really good blocking TE). We also have a bellcow-in-waiting RB in Bell who we are really going to feed the ball to in the future. Are we loaded at the position? No, but we are probably ok, especially if we want to retain Spaeth past his current contract.

Could Ebron go Top 10? maybe, but despite his athleticism, I just don't think he is on that level. Ultimately (very early prediction), I think he ends up with The NY Jets @ #18. Will he thrive in that scheme? I'm not so sure.

I think Amaro is definitely going to fall down some boards, maybe a mid-late 2nd round?

CJ Fiedorowicz kinda of looked as I expected. He is a pure in-line blocker who might be able to catch short to intermediate passes. He isn't going to be splitting seems in the NFL.

I still like ASJ as my #1 TE despite not seeing him perform at the Combine. It was disappointg not to see him.

While Niklas' speed is now in question, I still really like him as a 2nd round option.

Despite his poor 40 time, I still really like Crockett Gilmore and may be the type of mid round pick that we could get a deal on. He can get open and catches the ball well.

I think Ebron stays in the 12-18 range of the 1st.. Seferian-Jenkins could be the 2nd TE off the board now with Amaro falling to the mid-late 2nd round IMO.. Niklas I think goes in the 3rd with Fiedorowicz.. Arthur Lynch ran a 4.82 and that dropped him a bit as well.. All in all a pretty disappointing day for that group..

Taylor Lewan- 9'9" broad jump. 2nd best since 2006. His draft position is going to improve. I'll do the explosiveness index numbers later and I'm sure his will be high.

Ebron said earlier that he met with the Steelers. Spoke with Tomlin like they've known each other for a long time.

I absolutely love what he did today, but man, I just don't see that at all on tape. I always pegged him as an underachiever, especially this year.

I think on the positive side, he definitely may have put himself into the Top 14 mix, which means another great player will atleast be there from us to choose from.
