I have the utmost respect for Mayock but he tends to miss on CBs from time to time. I know he really liked McKelvin when he came out and he was a big fan of DJ Hayden last year. I'd be pretty sick over it if we took Fuller @ #15.

why so steel? he's a great cover corner. he tackles well in the run game too. he got speed, quickness and experience. I always thought he was the best cover guy in this group. what are your worries about him?

I just don't think he is at that level. I think Gilbert is a better playmaker and I think Purifoy is the better athlete. I think Gilbert is the only CB I would even consider at #15 and even then, it is low on my priorities. I think Fuller is being a little undervalued on certain sites (as some have him ranked in the 50s). To me he is somewhere in that 35-40 range. A really good prospect, but not elite. Have to see what he looks like at the Combine. I wasn disappointed he pulled out of the Senior Bowl due to injury.

fair enough. I think gilbert will be gone, but even if he wasn't I do like fuller and have had from the start. from day one he's been one of my favorite corners for us. I believe he will be a shut down guy by year two. gilbert is a good player but fuller has been doing it for several years at a high level. purifoy is another that I wonder why he's as low as he's ranked too.

While I haven't even started really researching players/etc (besides reading various posts about them/etc here and other places)....one name i see mentioned a lot of places is Dennard from Mich St...but I dont see many talking about him here like I do with Gilbert and some of these other guys.

Is he not that good? Or what exactly? As a lot of places have him as the #1 or #2 CB in the draft.

I mean, he's definitely up there. He's my #3 Cb and definitely a 1st round talent. I just don't think he is athlete. He's a very good cover corner who can make some plays. I don't think he is an elite athlete or an elite playmaker. There's a thought that he is just more of the same from the group we already have.

I guess most who don't have him ranked as high are assuming that he is going to be slow? He's the best all around CB in the draft IMO and is tough as nails. Him and Gilbert are on a different level than the other top corners to me. Personally I like him the best of the bunch for our system (I like his swag too). He wont take many picks to the house or return kickoffs like Gilbert, but the guy he is covering won't catch many balls.

fuller has the numbers. I'm not sure why he'd be a reach. same as Sorensen at safety. he's got better numbers than Clinton-dix and brooks and pryor.:cool:

numbers don't tell the whole story. the level of competition can make numbers look better than they are.

I would be surprised if they took Fuller at #15 haven't seen where he was rated that high.
