I like just about every player you have listed except sam because I don't think he has olb skills for us. I see him more as a 4-3 de specialist.

Love the new avatar too. Saw them here locally. Fantastic live show.

Pretty solid. I like either Dennard - Matthews - Buchannon - Feidorowicz - Hurst or Ebron - Roby - Buchannon - Moncrief - Hurst. Not a big fan of Sam or Baptiste. Most of these players would either start, or have significant roles right away. Good job :smiley1:

You would go CB in rounds 1 and 2, or just like those guys better than darcrav's alternatives? Would/could Roby be a viable option at FS in this instance?

We'll know better after the combine but I will be surprised if Dennard is that "speedy" DB that you covet.. That said, no way I go CB in round 1 and 2 anyway. Just not my preference. Too many needs across the board..

dennard isn't that speedy, but roby is. dennard is a good coverage corner though. by 2015 season we would have cortez, dennard and roby as our 3 main corners. we couldn't say we have neglected the position anymore and it would be a major strength to our defense. with shamarko's speed added we would have a very nice mix of coverage skills and added speed in our secondary. I'm not saying this will happen, but if they would happen to fall to us, I wouldn't have a hard time pulling the trigger if I was making the picks.

I still think this defense needs some major players for the LB unit. in past years Williams and garvin would be just good depth and not starters. I'm hoping molls works out, and I'd have to look at westerman a little closer before I would jettison him too, since OLB is a mess too. if our D wasn't in such trouble, I'd be fine with ebron or that big WR early, but it's not.

I'm with you as far as selecting 2 CB's in the draft but not with our first 2 picks. I'm not as big on Dennard as other's are. I'd prefer Gilbert if both were on the board.

gilbert, fuller, roby, dennard, jaylon Watkins isn't getting enough love, huff, McGill are leading my lists. no order intended. as far as great in coverage, I'd say fuller, dennard, Watkins are the best pure coverage guys. huff has some safety capabilities too. he and shamarko teamed up back there, with roby and fuller would make us the fastest D-backfield in the league, along with 4 guys with top coverage skills laid in lakes lap. add tez as our nickel and we would be a bad azz secondary every week. give me bailey or Hampton and Sorensen as depth on the backside and we would be hard to score on. the turnovers would definitely go up. wishful dreaming though with this scenario because kyle van noy would have fallen to us too. and ebron would be there in the 5th. LOL;):lolol::cool:

As a huge Buckeye fan, I watch every game and I honestly will be upset if we draft Roby. The guy was burned time and time again this year, contributing significantly to the worst pass defense in the history of OSU football...against a very mediocre Big Ten, I remind you. Aberderris and Robinson both lit him up and when it came time for the Orange Bowl, a bone bruise that he had suffered in the Big Ten Championship a month earlier forced him to sit out. Translation: He knew Sammy Watkins would absolutely destroy him and hurt his draft stock even more, so he didn't play.

Roby pads his stats against inferior competition but when push comes to shove, he can't guard good receivers. In the NFL, he's going against good receivers every week and he'll be toasted all the time. Please Steelers...pass on Roby.

I'm going to have to disagree with you here Cbus. I am also a huge OSU fan, and actually got to see Roby play a few games live while I was a student there. Roby did get burned a little this year, but I don't think we should shy away from him because of this. We wouldn't expect Roby to come in and blanket NFL receivers from the get go his rookie year. He will most likely run a sub 4.4 forty time, and isn't afraid to challenge receivers and press them at the line. He will play a lot of zone coverage in Pittsburgh, and it is something that I think he will be very good at with a year or two of coaching from Carnell Lake. Roby has all the physical tools, he just needs a little refining. He could end up being a player IMO.

I agree with this. he had some bad games but he also did a lot of good things in those games too. he makes plays and like SG said a little coaching will go a long way for this kid. as I said though fuller is my guy if we go early but I wouldn't be upset if it was roby or both.
