I lived in Denver and went to a few games. I didn't care for Denver one way or the other. Now Elway on the other hand was a whiney, nammy pammy, brat when he played. That I didn't care for so him I don't care for. (Hate is a little strong of a word).

The Seahawks play like the Steelers used to play. I don't think teams fear the Steelers defense anymore which has become too predictable and soft.

Seattle is overrated. One thing I would like to point out is they have not had a 1000 yard receiver since 2007. I strongly feel the Steelers started to be derailed by Tomlin's "protect Ben with weapons" draft of 2008 and then onward. The Seahawks just proved that defense and a dominant running game are still king.

The Steelers OL will improve drastically this year if Pouncey and DeCastro can stay healthy (looking at you DD). This means the Steelers could finally have a running game with Bell.

The defense is in desperate need of some key players. The Steelers were dominant when they had Hampton at NT and Porter/Harrison at ROLB. Those are two of the most important parts of the defense. The Steelers have not been able to generate pressure from the QB's blindside so Jones will be crucial in the Steelers' performance next season.

McLendon is a very good player but would be better at LE than NT. It will be hard to find a NT that can dominate like a young Hampton and this will be a major setback.

ILB/CB have not been addressed again. Front office seems to address problems only years after it is too late. OL ravaged after 06 yet no effort made to repair it until 2010. Waiting for Spence to possibly return seems a poor solution to the ILB problem. Ike will need to be replaced very soon.

FS might be addressed in the 2nd round of this year's draft.

Stats mean nothing, winning does. Look at the discussions about Peyton - win and he's the GOAT, he didn't so now what? The biggest take away from the superbowl is that great defenses are a formula for success. What did Tomlin tell FWP, paraphrasing ~ "Every day I walk past five Lombardi's not five rushing titles"

My point is that having flashy wide receivers is overrated. That's all.

I have been advocating on other message boards for a few years now that I didn't like the shift from traditional football to Ben in an empty backfield with 4 wideouts and a tight end on 3rd and 3.

Roethlisberger is the perfect quarterback for "keep it close and win it at the end." Even if the results don't go Ben's way he still performs best when the pressure is on and that is rare.

Well I agree with most of your statement,
I am afraid #7's MAGIC has dried up the last
2-3 years. Tick, tick tick, clock is
ticking on #7's overall game just TOO many
hits. Going forward, #7 will be the most important decision the Steelers will be making.
