this is pouncey's last year under contract, coming off another major injury to important parts for an NFL lineman. we have greg olsen as an ERFA right now. MM cut loose Fernando last year and he is a FA coming off a bad injury. can cody Wallace be signed and play the swing interior linemen dressed each week? would we draft an interior guy for this? our other center/guard is starting at LT.

I would re-sign Velasco or Wallace he seemed to play well at the end of the season.

our new O-line coach cut him last year. plus he's coming off an Achilles tear and is near 30. we did pretty well without pouncey last year too. we won't be running last years scheme though, which will most likely require some different parts. pounce coming off that knee injury is also unknown and in the last year of his contract. Wallace is up there too in age.:cool:

velasco was cut for cap implications , we should be able to sign him cheap since he is injuried

then we have two centers coming back from major injuries going into the season. not to mention that's a lot of money tied up at the center position and then have to try to sign pounce to even more by the end of the year? I wonder if this is the best move. to many unknowns with these two.

i don't think pouncey will be here after this season and velasco could be signed cheap this season and then if he is healthy he will get his contract cheaper than what pouncey will ask .

he will also be 30 years old by then. this also gives us zero stability on the O-line. that would be 3 years in a row of changing centers. this is gilberts last season under contract too. I believe beachum too. I'm not sure about foster. did he sign for two or three years? maybe we keep olsen around.

beachum is the only one i care foster and gilbert can go , i don't know about pouncey but i think he will ask a lot of money and velasco if healthy could give you 3 /4 years at high level , anyway since we have munchak now i'm a lot more confident on the choices they will make .

I agree about MM. of course I'm worried about how long we will have him here. I hope sarrett picks it up quickly.

I agree about gilbert and foster, if we are going to the zone system. they still have to be able to pass block, which is gilberts downfall and mobility which is fosters.

pounce wasn't part of the line that got better towards the end of the year and I think this year will be a partial rehab year for him. I can here it now, he will be fine he was coming off of an injury, he was a pro bowler before that.

this line played better but it still needs some upgrades and depth bad. we are counting on three players coming off of major injuries. pouncey, embernate, and velasco. two guys that are still struggling with foot speed and change of direction movement in adams and gilbert. one guy that's way too fat in foster. two guys are getting better and are very hard workers in beachum and DD. Bryant browning was picked up but he's a big road grader that is slow also. hubbard has shown some improvement. olsen, has shown nothing yet. we lost long at the end of the year. Wallace we don't know what will happen with him. it's not all roses as some think across the board.

Can Wallace or Velasco long snap? Apparently most people think Warren is a goner which leaves the long snapper job unfilled might be a good place to stash a back-up back-up center if they have the ability.

they picked up a futures guy at LS. I think we see at least one as an UDFA or at least another futures type brought in.
