I'm with TTF, if he is a good LG, something we don't have, and comes cheap, I'd take him. While Pittsburgh usually gets rid of problem children versus bringing them on, there's a chance with the right attitude, say, the Steeler Way, he could do well for us.

To which I said he was falsely accused. It's relevant if Incognito is being at least somewhat falsely accused. There's at least some evidence that indicates what Martin's camp is saying is far from the whole story.

Don't see how on earth what I said could be considered a shot at Ben. I'm comparing the situation both players were/are in, not the players themselves.

I'm just saying, lets not be too quick to write him off as a problem child in the locker room. Does he like blow and hookers? Yes he does, but if we wrote off every player that liked those things, we probably wouldn't have enough guys to field a team.

I honestly didn't know that. I really don't know much about him other than this Martin issue and that he's a good player. I still wouldn't be against bringing him in for at least a chat to see where his head is at and see if he is ready to tone it down a bit. These situations have a way of humbling guys.

We passed on Burfict due to his behaviour issues and now he's turned into one of the better young LB'ers in the league who doesn't appear to be making any type of noise in the league.

OK. That makes more sense. Though, you said "most would say" which is slightly different. I'll drop it, because I don't want to seem like I'm picking on you, but you probably have a thousand posts that are shots at Ben. ;-)

Anyway, I agree with your premise. While I probably think more often than not that the Steelers should pass on a "problem child", I think the right guy under the right circumstances is worth a risk. He is a scumbag, but many players likely are. We don't often get the benefit of getting the private details of what goes on behind closed doors.

The only issue I might have with Richie Incognito is his history. He's got a long history of issues. Not allegations, but actual events that he was found guilty of, and many, many incidents of assault related behaviors. I want linemen mean, with nasty dispositions, but you don't want a loose cannon who's more interested in getting drunk, high, and fighting than he is with training and winning. The Dolphins are a joke of an organization, though. I'm not just saying that. They are a mess and nothing that goes on there surprises me.

Has he learned from all this? Would he be on his best behavior now? Hard to say, but for a near low risk contract I think it might be worth finding out.

The more interesting question to me would be who here still wants Martin?

Not a chance in hell. A locker room can be a really tough place. You have to have thick skin to play any sport really. He quite clearly can't handle that type of environment and has all but said so himself. I'm actually surprised he made it through college without having a melt down.

Even better. I like anger and this team seems to have none of it.

I'd take him for a low cost 1 year deal. The guy is a solid player.

Cody and dont forget Embernate, hopefully he can step in, definitely has the right attitude.

I don't want Incognito, no reason to believe he will get his act together with the Steelers, problems everywhere he has been. I'm sure the Rooneys won't have any part of him.

People keep saying problems... Richie didnt have any problems while in Miami. He was a friend to Martin.

Also, no way would any NFL team sign Martin. He is done in the NFL.

Would be stupid to get rid of Embernate, cost you nothing and with this teams injuries, never enough depth. Plus Embernate can play tackle too.

Who on earth has the patience to read all of those texts? It hurts my brain. I got about 4 texts in and quit.

I'm happy enough with our guards. Foster's no star, but he's solid and versatile and durable. And we're paying him like a starter. If there's an upgrade to be had by switching to Incognito, it's not worth the risk of hurting the team.

I don't think foster is mobile enough to run the ZBS. I also wonder why we just scrapped running the ZBS just because pouncey went down? did the rest of our o-linemen not run it well enough? we brought in another center that ran it for our new o-line coach.

everyone is expecting some sort of voo doo from mm. they still have to be able to pass block. they also have to be smart and MOBILE so they can get to the second level.

when your going to have one of the best teach a complete scheme to a team and you don't know how long you may have him to do that, I'm gonna have to say you get what he asks for to do it. once we get in camp and see if these guys are it, there could go another year. I don't think we have MM long enough to work with projects.

They scraped it because Bicknell couldn't coach it.
