The fact that Wilson allowed himself to be interrogated by the Ratbird Gestapo leader, John Hairball, himself for 12 hours over two days? Hairball had absolutely NO INTENTION of hiring Wilson and he knows it. Shoot, I think Wilson even knew it but he went in there and spilled the beans anyway. The fact is that Wilson was the token Rooney Rule interview and nothing more than an intelligence source for the Rats! I hope Wilson feels like a cheap hooker today!

It doesn't make me mad as much as show that Wilson had a bone to pick. As much as the rumors were out there that he was upset with Haley or he couldn't get a long with Haley, you don't burn bridges with other coaches in this league unless you have something to prove. Wilson just took all of the guys, even the ones who might be a head coach someday or that he could get a job from and said...I cannot be trusted. Good for him. He was not loyal he better hope that he doesn't make AP suck.

I thought the Rooney rule only applied to Head Coaching vacancies?

I'm a little confused on it. I've read everything from head coaches to senior football operations positions and even "high level coaching positions". Wouldn't an OC or DC be a high level coaching position?

But whatever the case, Hairball's intent, IMHO, was to extract as much information as possible from Benedict Judas Wilson. That's why he called him almost immediately after the interview and said, "hey, Kirb, I enjoyed it immensely but I never want to see you again, sucker... bwahahahahahaha!!!!"

Ahh, he's working the system. Not much Kirby could tell him though. He liked to coach them to look for the bounce outside (His words).

You're an angry man Jack :lolol:

These 2 teams know each other inside and out, what could he tell them that they can't see on film? And if there are any great secrets, what makes you so sure Wilson divulged them? Maybe he only went over stuff that as I mentioned, can be seen on film. By all accounts, Wilson is a highly respected individual, I don't see him doing anything to purposely hurt the Steelers organization.

If you want to be mad at someone, be mad at Harbaugh for using him, Wilson was trying to get a job. These interviews are invaluable experiences for new candidates like Wilson, he had to take the interview.

Also, with the hiring of Saxon, nothing Wilson told them means squat anymore. Throw Munchak into the mix, it's a whole new ball of wax.

Oh, I am mad at Hairball. Of course, I was mad at Hairball before this episode but I'm even madder at him now. I just thought it was kind of odd that Wilson had barely gotten out of Hairball's office before Hairball was calling him letting him know he was no longer a candidate. Did Wilson do so poorly in that second interview that Hairball dismissed him immediately after the interview or had he heard all he needed to hear?

The Rooney rule applies to HC I'm sure. I'm not worried about what Wilson told the Ratbirds because the Steelers have a new O-line coach and a new RB coach, and their scheme will change so it's irrelevant. Wilson was not in a position to turn down interviews if he wanted to become a OC.

I just personally don't like the idea of ANY Steelers coach going to the stupid rats. There are certain allegiances I have and expect coaches and players to have them but in reality that's probably a little unfair. I mean I would may DIE if Bill Cowher ever coached the cowgirls or rats or bungles or clowns after being with us for so long. But given that this is their career I can't expect them to always be "loyal" to the Steelers if they want to move up. It's an extremely competitive business. I'm not sad that Wilson is gone and it seems to me he did want to go. So I would rather have a staff filled with people who WANT to be here. So for that I say good riddance and don't let the door hit you in the gluteous maximus because I don't want your gluteos maximus germs on my door.

TTF the new RB coach will most likely to actually run the ball so that little sell out wilson couldn't tell them anything anyhow. What really p'ed me off is how the team and fans stuck with him and he bounced just to bounce however, with that heart, screw him
