I just meant there is no official word by the Steelers about it. Very well may be true but I don't trust journalism, all in a hurry for a scoop, no substance :bscow:

In situations like this I wish Paul Harvey was still alive. I'd like to know the rest of the story. :hmmm:

It's based on a tweet by Ed Bouchette. Doesn't sound like a done deal to me. We'll have to wait and see.

Maybe he's got a purple fetish.

I still think Hairball played him for additional information. But then again, he is Hairball.

It's no big loss it seemed he was looking to leave anyway. There are reports Wilson wanted out because there was friction on the coaching staff last season.

I was saying it would be cool if AP's coach wasn't still in Minnesota so maybe we can get him?

Why do I suspect that Haley couldn't deal with the "rumors" that Wilson was Tomlin's choice for OC before his accident?

Mark Kaboly ‏@MarkKaboly_Trib Since Mike Tomlin assembled his 1st staff in 07, 11 coaches fired/left. #Steelers only have 11 assistant coaches on staff -- fewest in NFL.

I wonder how that compares to the other 31 teams in the same time span.

I think it's the opposite. Has to sting if you are Wilson, watching someone else do the job that was all but yours until an unfortunate accident. Also, Haley is known to rub people the wrong way.

    OR

Could also mean that Haley has no further aspirations of being a HC and is content being an OC, which unless fired, obviously is a road block to Wilsons advancement.

I think you're onto something, Blast. Also, the Rooneys have a longstanding family connection with the Haley's and maybe Wilson thought his career trajectory would have been hindered by that in the Burgh.

OR it could be that Mike Zimmer is a highly touted DC in the NFL who many are projecting to be a very outstanding HC in the NFL and Mike really wanted to hire Wilson all along and talked the Wilf's into throwing a bunch of money his way.

Wilson did what's best for his career moving forward I have no problem with it. The Steelers will find a competent RB coach.
