Dick Lebeau comes to mind. Anyway, if Munchak does as good a job as we hope for, he may not be here too long.

when the guy from houston said it i was still skeptical ... hopeful but had some doubt but when schefter said it .. id take that to the bank... this signing is as big as signing one of our good players... the fact that hes that good and the OL coaches we have had were pathetic .. way to go FO .. this is HUGE !!!

I was saying this the other day. Not these exact words but I was curious what Velasco thinks of him.

From The Tennessean back in September:

    Coach Munchak on releasing Velasco:

The Titans saved $1.4 million by holding onto Spencer as opposed to Velasco, but asked if money played a part in the decision, Munchak said “not as far as who we kept.”

“Fernando’s a guy who grew up with me as a line coach, so you know I felt about him,” the coach said Monday. “Chris did a nice job. He came in and got better. He missed OTAs, which I thought would hurt him more than it did. But he came out here, played good and just continued to get better over the six-week period. So it was a very difficult decision.”

From The Tennessean a couple weeks later-
Coach Munchak on the Steelers signing him:

"I think it is great for Fernando, and I think he’ll do a great job for them,’’ coach Mike Munchak said. “I am happy for him. I knew he would be playing somewhere.”"

I agree. just because he is a good coach, it doesn't make mike adams feet any better or foster any more mobile. how about we give him some real talent to make better, then we have something and so does ben and bell to work with. it doesn't mean we still won't take a cb or any other position we need.

Titans had Rob Turner and drafted Schwenke. Munchak seems to like younger quicker guys so they sent Velasco to PS. Could be wrong but I didn't think Velasco was making bank in TN.

Not that I recall, at least not in recent history, but any good offensive line coach can run nearly any blocking scheme.

For sure, but I think you have to share it with Tarheelflyer.

Thats what I was thinking Jack, if anyone can elevate Adams and Gilberts game, it's Munchak. Great hire :applaud:

I think it's a huge plus, that's a lot of experience on the sidelines, lot of input, we have one heck of a coaching staff.

I think Munchak will need to evaluate the OL himself and give Tomlin/Colbert/Whoever his opinion on what he can work with and what we need to draft/sign. For all we know Munchak sees a ton of potential in Adams and thinks he can coach him up.

I always liked Munchak but felt like he was in over his head as a head coach and TN reached on him. Big fall from HC to OL coach. I hope he does well and fits in here.

If Greg Robinson or Jake Matthews was there at #15 I would draft them but not Lewan or Koundajo (sp) from Alabama.

I think he actually did run ZBS...I remember all the talk with Velasco coming from a ZBS in TN. And I've seen some of the beat writers say he did.

no way...not at #15 and not another first round lineman...they have enough talent on the line...

many more glaring needs.. Stud CB or MLB.. id even go with a WR in rd 1...
