Considering all 4 road teams beat the spread wild card week those lines are pretty big except for Frisco.

The teams I would like to see win are NO, Indy, Car and SD. Not likely to happen but there could be an upset or two.

    Diamond said "
The Chargers has Denver's number, they held Denver to their lowest point out put twice this year and beat them in their last game, and it's no wonder since their head coach Mike McCoy was Denver's OC and wrote their play book, this will be the biggest upset in the playoffs, my upset pick, another 6 seed goes wild."

I got to agree with that. This would be the most stunning upset of all.

Indy at NE --Like most Steeler fans I want to see NE out as soon as possible. But I don't see it here--Oh heck, get them out quick. Come on INDY.

NO at Sea -- Same thing here. Those Hawk nuts can go screw themselves. But I don't think the Saints win there. Seattle

SF at Car -- Maybe Kaepernick will get rattled here otherwise SF gets too close to 6. Come on CAR.

SD at Den -- Diamond summed it up fine. SD

I didn't play in the Wild Card round, but here goes:

    1. New England big over Indy. I hate the Pats, but I think this matchup is exactly what New England needs in this round. I think the Pats will do two things that lead them to a 10+ point margin of victory. 1) They will run right through Indy's defense to the tune of around 200 total rushing yards and 35+ minutes time of possession. 2) They will take away anything to TY Hilton deeper than 10-12 yards downfield. For the Colts offense to keep up, I think that their other receiving options will need to step up big time. That means career games for guys like Da'Rick Rodgers and Coby Fleener. Also, Luck will need to do more with his legs, and may need to convert 3 or 4 first downs with his legs.

    2. Seattle over New Orleans in a closer game than the regular season blowout, but still a 7+ point margin.

    3. San Fran over Carolina by 10. I think this game will be a one possession game until the last 5-10 minutes, but experience will win the day. Steve Smith's injury certainly doesn't help Carolina's chances.

    4. The best game of the weekend. Denver survives a 3 point game vs. the Chargers. I'm thinking 27-24 or thereabouts. The huge point spread puzzles me given the 2 games this season and the anticipated windy conditions in Denver.

I think the ironic thing about NE this year is all the talking heads are saying oh they lost Wilfork, Gronk, etc. how can they win? They can win because unlike past years they have a very dependable, dangerous running game. Where they lit up the scoreboard for 40 points going pass happy but then didn't have the ability to run the ball to control, they now have the ability to truly grind it out.

I think Denver is the past version of what NE used to be in those years when they scored 40 points a game, but didn't have enough toughness to grind it out. NE will probably beat Denver if they get by SD. Also for a year where Brady has a sub 90 QB efficiency, he may actually have the best running game since the Corey Dillon days which might help them win it all.

I hate the Patriots, but continue to marvel at how well they manage personnel that puts them in a place to compete year in year out.

Can't really find anything there to disagree with. But since they handled Indy as expected this forces me to now switch to a Denver win. Why? No way those Patsies get to bring their zebras to Denver. There goes their passing attack which seems to be about 75% Pass Interference calls. The reverse will happen in Denver.

Did anyone notice the missed call on the tripping of Luck on a critical 3rd down play when the game was still on the line?[1st series 4thQ]

How about the critical 3rd down PI call that opened the flood gates and led to a 14pt lead. Brady throws into triple coverage and way over the head of the receiver plus out of bounds by 5 yards and NE gets rewarded with a TD. This will not happen in Denver. Those fans will shove those zebras up Krafts butt. So unfortunately I now have to pick Denver to avoid the upset. Cannot rely on any one of the 3 relatively inexperienced NFC QB's to do the job on NE in the big game.

Looks like Seattle over the 49ers and Broncos over New England, at least the way I see it.

I like Seattle in the SB a lot over either team from the AFC.

This is what I think will happen. But I'd like to see SF over either AFC team. Also would like to see Seattle's D dismantle Denver's O.

Wow? A lot of posters did very well Elvis, [not me] but this was unreal. Each game and comments right on target. Nice!

Well down to 4 and I am finished. All those teams worked their butts off to get there and I really hate to root for or against any of them.[Well maybe just a little]

Mostly, I just want NE to lose. And I think they will, go Peyton. I am rooting for Seattle to stop the 49ers and they will. Seattle beats Denver in the Super Bowl.

I'm pretty sick of this Manning love fest, Belichick has beat Manning 10 out of 14 times, seems he has his number, so patriots over Denver: Niners are balling, they will shut down Wilson and his offense and win this game by 3 to 7 points or more...Superbowl will be the niners and the pats...niners will win the SB this year...

Well I don't want NE or SF, so I'm rooting for Seattle and Denver, who used to both play in AFC west. A good matchup for a NY Superbowl. But I won't be surprised with NE and SF, a nightmare scenario. Might as well pull for Marsha then, heck Bill Cowher already said Belicheat was the GOAT

Thank you good sir. Hopefully I can follow up with these two championship Sunday predictions.

    1. I've heard all of the endless predictions of how Bellichick will out scheme and fool Manning Sunday. I'm aware of all of the history there, especially when the Pats defense used to endlessly frustrate Manning when he was with the Colts. New England's defensive personnel are just not that good this time around. There's no Ty Law, no Asante Samuel, No Bruschi, Vrabel, Seymour, Harrison, McGinest or any of those other guys who neutralized Manning back in the Pats/Colts rivalry days. Bellichick doesn't have the horses to take away all of Manning's weapons like he did in Peyton's Indy days. Manning will always either have one or two mismatches in the secondary or too few guys in the box to stop Moreno and Ball. I know that the Pats got the win earlier this season. However, there are 4 key differences between the game earlier this year and this Sunday that favor Denver: A) the game is in Denver this time. B) the weather forecast for Sunday is more favorable for Manning's passing. C) No Gronk. D) Julius Thomas didn't play in that game. I think the pundits are making too much of the Pats' recent success against not-so-good teams. Indy was a wreck that got REALLY lucky against KC. Prior to that, the Pats held down a few mediocre offenses, but were otherwise less than stellar on defense for most of the year.

I think Denver will score often Sunday. Even if the Pats can take away one or two weapons, Denver has plenty more on tap. I think back to a game earlier this year where an opponent schemed to take away the Thomases, and Manning threw 4 TDs to Decker. He will take what the Pats give him, and do so to devastating effect. My question is whether Denver can slow down the Pats offense. I think Denver's defense is just good enough to let Denver's offense keep a step or two ahead of the Pats.

I think Denver wins this game in a fairly high scoring affair. I think they score somewhere between 34 and 41 points, and win by around a TD.

    2) I have much less conviction, and less to say, about the 2nd game. Recent history with the two teams points toward a convincing Seahawks win. They won the last 2 in Seattle 42-13 and 29-3 - ouch. However, the 49ers are making a believer out of me. They are peaking at the right time, and are playing great on the road. I'm actually going to take them in a nail biter. However, if Seattle wins by 14+ I won't be surprised based on their last 2 meetings in Seattle.

Hey! What happened to page 2 of this thread. ]

Is it my browser or has it disappeared. Posts 1-25 are there and there is no way to go to page2???

Same thing with the Rooney want Ben to retirea Steeler thread.

Also is there anyway to stop posts from repeating in a single file??

Is this happening to everyone or is it my browser?

Just about everyone called the shots in the conference championship games. Needless to say the results suited most Steeler fans fine.

I have no comments to make on the big game. I only replied here to get the thread moved back up so it didn't get lost on page 2. Some other fans might have some opinions on the big game.

But I did notice that the early line had Denver a -1 pt favorite. Yesterday two other places also had -1. But one had Den at -2.5. Today two places are 2.5 and another is up to -3. The Manning factor plus the overall efficiency of the Broncos is having an effect.

Frankly, some people are a little surprised. Last week before the games some people had Seattle as the favorite. Oh well, for those that like the Seahawks to win the game +3 seems reasonable. But maybe it will go even higher?
