Bettis and Greene are HoF Finalists

Well I have a shirt that boasts of all of our inductees. I think the players themselves might identify with a certain team but the Hall itself doesn't actually recognize them. I really think Greene would think of himself as a Panther anyway.

 

This is how Dick LeBeau was inducted: Cornerback, Detroit Lions.
Below each player's name, it has their position and every team they played with (and the span in which they played for each team).

 

I was thinking he would go with the Rams since he played 8 seasons with them.

 

Well Bettis did make the overrated poll a few times, supposedly voted on by players.

Yup! I think there's clear bias against modern Steelers though. They need to be way over the top to get in like Dawson and Woodson. Lake is candidate if he was on any other team. How LC Greenwood is not in is beyond me.

 

I agree on LC. Dirt was definitely one of the best at his position. Woodson, while deserving of the HOF, played at a high level with other teams. If he'd stayed in Pitt., would he have been a first ballot guy? I think so.

 

They would have had no choice on Woodson. He made it so clear that they couldn't justify keeping him out even if he had stayed in Pittsburgh.

 

Woodson did get in on the first ballot didn't he?

 

Yes, what I'm saying is that he wouldhave made it in spite of the "anti-Steelers" bias.

 

Oh. Do you think the reason Lebeau took so long was because of his connection to the Steelers?

 

No. I don't buy into the "too many Steelers in the HOF" conspiracy.

And he was also accused in a sexual assault case, but his image isn't tarnished by it.
