Would be a great oline coach and it would tie him up so he isn't the next PSU head coach. Double win from my perspective.

He'd be an awesome addition, but like you said, he's interviewing for the PSU head coach job. Also, and not that this is science, but how often do head coaches turn around and take positional coaching positions?

Don't see it. Even he was looking to take an OLC position.

Tennessee is all about big uglies up front and power run. Steelers don't have that kind of personnel, and don't want that kind of running game anymore.

Why don't they just ask Tunch to do it. I think he would be a great oline coach. Beachum said Tunch has given him a ton of advice.

With Al Golden saying he is OUT of the job search at PSU, my guess is he is the frontrunner for the job. If not, he would be a great addition to our staff if he would come.

I'd take his fired OL coach Bruce Matthews.

There have been questions of whether Tunch wanted to do it or not. I think it was something to do with the travel and him not wanting to be away from his family.

Whiz and Haley both did. So did Lebeau.

No they didn't. Many fired head coaches take coordinator or assistant coaching jobs, I'm talking about positional positions.

    messed up letting him go.
Probably better for him tho,if he lands the Penn St job.
So I really don't see him coming to the Steelers

Maybe they should sweeten the pot by calling him an "offensive line coordinator"??? LOL.

You would think there is nothing possible about OL play that Matthews would not know. Better hurry up!

On the outside this sounds good.Family pedigree, playing pedigree.

Not sure though how good of a OL coach he'd be. Great players rarely make great coaches and its reported Munchak was fired because he refused to fire some of his asst coaches, one was Mathews and they were very close, played together and then coached together.

Back to the OP. Mike Munchak could very well have become an over qualified OL coach at this point.
