    Wow- What a disappointment.

3 games for this weeks wild card weekend are in danger of not selling out and may bring blackout to the local markets.

Cincy - 10,000 tickets need to be sold by 4 pm tomorrow or the game will be blacked out. The CFO Troy Blackburn is trying to work with the NFL in trying to get either Pepsi or Budweiser in order to buy the rest of the tickets but it's not too promising. Mike Brown does not want to purchase the tickets because the money goes right back to all 32 teams.

Indianapolis is 6,000 shy of a sellout. They have asked for an extension and may get one to try and sell the game out by Friday 4pm.

Green Bay - Who has a very loyal fan base and has sold out every home game through fan participating ownership is currently 15,000 short of a sell out.

If the Steelers were in the playoffs I guarantee that the game in Cincy would already be sold out. I would be there and I talked to numerous of other Steelers fans in this area and they assured that they would be also.

Indianapolis would probably be a full house too.

GB we know that it couldn't happen but they would have benefitted if at all possible too.

This just shows how much of an impact the Steelers Nation has. Imagine all those hotels packed with Steelers fans.:hmmm:

It's a sign of things to come for the NFL. They'd better get used to it. Gonna be hard to sell the Roger Goodell brand of football for hundereds of dollars per ticket.

    What the original poster forgot
to mention was Green Bay had an avg,
ticket price of $307 for this playoff game.
I believe Cincy and Indy were low 200's

I'm not sure Pittsburgh would've sold out either at the end of the season they had a lot of empty seats.

Agreed. Hope the arrogant Goodell recognizes this is his doing. He's ruining the game and people are speaking by not putting fannies in seats and money in his wallet.

    Dont forget the weather
It is supposed to be a high of four degrees in Green Bay on Sunday, when the Packers play the 49ers, with a low of minus-15 degrees. Would you rather spend a few hundred dollars to sit in miserable conditions or stay at home and watch on TV, where the high-definition view is a heck of a lot better than it is better than any vantage point in the stadium?

I agree! I've been saying the same thing to friends for a while. All the fairweathers will drift and the old school fan will have had enough of Goodells antics.

All of the home teams are the inferior teams for the four games. Haven't looked at the odds, but it wouldn't surprise me if the 4 WC teams beat the crappy division winners this weekend.

I'd be very surprised if the Chokers win. The Bengals are undefeated at home this year. They're a different animal in Cincy where the Chokers ARE the team that needed OT and an inept, (being nice), officiating crew to beat a 2nd and 3rd string team.

its a lot nicer to sit on the couch or recliner at 70 degrees than fight snow, wind or rain. of course ticket prices are ridiculous.

I too blame Goodell. I think the old school fan of the NFL is really beginning to say "NO MORE" and will not shell out big bucks for this mess we call the NFL today. I have not personally spent any money on merchandise sanctioned by the NFL in more than 2 years. And I will not until Goodell is gone and they bring back a game we as fans can enjoy. I would love to see a Superbowl not sell out for the first time. I think then the NFL would begin to see their mistakes. I don't think we'll be seeing that anytime soon though.

Most people have large screen HD tv at home and it's a lot cheaper to watch the game at home. I think they raise the ticket prices for the playoffs, and you have to deal with the drunken idiots at the game.

Tell the fine people of Green Bay this, that
there team will be BLACKED OUT LOCALLY.
Along time ago early 70's before the
Steelers got great, the Steelers where
blacked out, a lot people drove hrs to avoid not
being able to see their favorite team I know
I was one of them that would go with
my parents and others to rent a motel room
    to watch the Steelers.

Maybe this year, would you want to go
to a cold weathered city for a Super bowl?
Where everything will be 5 times the price
of what it should be? Welcome to NYC.LOL

All the more reason not add more seats to Heinz Field. The viewing experience at home is just too great anymore, many fans don't want to spend hundreds of dollars and go sit in 5 degree temps.
