I still cant get over that we got hosed

    Beat the teams you are suppose to beat.If we did that we would be going into the last week 12-3....With wins over Tenn,Oak,Minn,Miami....We didnt do that. We lost those games.We only have ourselves to blame.

    It sucks. But I'm over it. No point dwelling on it now.

    (But if they take a draft pick away from us, the wound will be ripped fresh open)

    Reminds me of the season (2000) when we had 3 games lost over blatantly bad calls at the end of the game. Got 3 "our bad, sorry" letters from the league. And any one of those losses turned into a win would have us in the playoffs. We ripped the league up the next season and everyone seemed surprised. Did they not know we should have been 11-5 or even 12-4 the year before???

    The team finished strong. Offensively, I only see us improving even more. We may need a little foundation work on defense, but nothing too drastic.

    And the team has GOT to be hungry and ticked off going into next season. Sure, we got hosed. But it may be just what we need: fuel to get our fire burning early next year.

    The bigger question or issue is what is the NFL going to do about the horrible officiating that has happen in the league this year?

    One day this kind of mistake will cost a team a Super Bowl or a chance to go to the Super Bowl.

    exactly we did enough...the bar was set at 8-8 this year...we did enough and the chargers lost that game on the fumble in overtime that was returned for a TD...

    IDC if we are 11-5 or 6-10...whatever the bar is set at to make the playoffs and we meet that bar and get screwed by the refs 2 times is unacceptable

    Why is it so bad to point out that officiating cost the steelers a playoff spot?

    One day? How do you know that day wasn't Sunday? I realize it's a longshot, but once you get in the tournament ANYTHING is possible. We've seen the six seed win the Super Bowl several times in the last decade. Those idiotic calls may have prevented the Steelers from capturing Lombardi #7. :shrug:

    I was thinking of something more immediate like a NFC or AFC Championship game and San Diego went and KC didn't. Or in the actual Super bowl game.

    Oh, I get what you're saying. But really when the officials are so inept that they cost a team a playoff spot, they are altering the possibilities that could occur. Again, the Steelers have no one to blame but themselves but the refs' pitiful performance didn't help matters.

    If you have to put your playoff hopes on the foot of another teams kicker you ****ed upthe end. The loses to the awful teams are inexcusable. Yes the refs ****er up no doubt about but guess what we win any of those 6 games with should have won that kick doesn't mean ****. This is what's wrong with America let's blame others for our **** ups. Get the **** over it and move on its the steelers fault end of story.

    So let me throw out a hypothetical for you...

    Stay with me here---

    Say you are at your job and your boss tells you that you and the guy next to you need to sell 2 vacuum cleaners in a given month to get paid your full salary...2 thats it!!! not 20 or 200

    no problem right? thats what your boss set the bar at for you and the guy next to you to do so both of you get your full salary...

    You sell your 2 on the absolute last day of the month...you did what was asked of you , but your partner over slept on the last day of the month and forgot to sell his last one so now you both do not get paid for an entire months work of trying to sell the vacuums...


    Point being the bar was set at 8-8 in the afc this year ..no matter how little the win total is...idc if we are 7-9, 6-10, 11-5 ...we made the playoffs because the chargers lost that game and the officials took it away

    I said on here before...Why is it so bad to point out the officials cost us a playoff spot? Because they did....you mean to tell me the week 4 loss to minny had an effect on the calls in the chiefs game? bogus..
