This is just killing the Tomlin bashers, they were dying to have a losing season in their arsenal :lolol:

What a shame, MT still doesn't have one ;)

LOL, you can ask draft questions. Threads are going to be muddled with draft talk for months...no one's going to get the ruler to the back of their hand. :lolol:

Allen somewhat confounds me because of his inconsistencies. I do have faith that he'll shine next year, though. I know he will. Why? It's the final year of his contract so the formula dictates that he'll be a baller that we won't be able to afford in '15. :lolol:

31 teams have "losing" seasons every year. 8-8 or 18-1. not a lot of difference when season is over

Yeah I think from now on I'm gonna root for guys to be JUST OK until we pay them a cheaper contract and THEN I'm gonna root for them to be awesome. Sound like pretty sound logic? Allen was probably the guy I was looking to this year to have a monster year so I've gotta say I'm disappointed by him BUT he WAS a little banged up so MAYBE we've not seen all that he can bring to the table. I just SO desperately want a ballhawk corner. Is THAT too much to ask???

They could try to resign him cheaper now. Unlikely due to cap problems but if he shines they probably won't be able to keep him.

Two straight seasons missing the playoffs with a franchise QB in his prime isn't exactly a good performance from Tomlin

Hmmm... how do you get 15th? I looked at the league standings and got 14th (for non-playoff teams isn't it based on regular season standings?)

BTW, what will happen to our pick w.r.t TomlinGate?

True but int he case of Ben, he has played well. It is the terrible defense that cost the games this season.

We're locked in at 15 officially. The Bears pick ahead of us due to a tiebreaker. The tiebreakers are strength of schedule, division tiebreakers, and conference tiebreakers. If all those still result in a tie, a coin toss at the combine determines the order. The Ravens and Cowboys will have to do just that this year.

    Here's the order:

    1. Houston Texans - 2-14
    2. St. Louis Rams (via Washington Redskins) - 3-13
    3. Jacksonville Jaguars - 4-12
    4. Cleveland Browns - 4-12
    5. Oakland Raiders - 4-12
    6. Atlanta Falcons - 4-12
    7. Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 4-12
    8. Minnesota Vikings - 5-10-1
    9. Buffalo Bills - 6-10
    10. Detroit Lions - 7-9
    11. Tennessee Titans - 7-9
    12. New York Giants - 7-9
    13. St. Louis Rams - 7-9
    14. Chicago Bears - 8-8
    15. Pittsburgh Steelers - 8-8
    16 or 17. Baltimore Ravens - 8-8
    16 or 17. Dallas Cowboys - 8-8
    18. New York Jets - 8-8
    19. Miami Dolphins - 8-8
    20. Arizona Cardinals - 10-5

I don't doubt you guys, but I'm kind of shaking my head. I thought the lower draft picks went to the worse teams. Since Da Bears beat us, I expected us to draft ahead of them. Likewise, I guess since we were in playoff running, I expected us to draft ahead of the Dolphins, Jets, and Ravens. But, I'll take it!

This team needs a tall, strong Wide Receiver such as a Calvin Johnson, Brandon Marshall, Demarious Thomas, AJ Green type.

I know that's a pretty reaching list but those guys alone are all game changers.

I wonder if Goodell decides to revisit our sideline-gate penalty and bump Baltimore above us?

Still not a losing season, something Bill Cowher did back to back and 3 times total.

The team is also playing very well now and finished the season 8-4. He actually has done a very good job keeping the team together and playing winning football after an 0-4 start, something I attribute much more to Pouncey going down the first game then I do to Tomlin.

Agree. 15 is a pretty sweet spot, I think. Not much pressure to reach for something you don't need, and still quality players around.

So your good with 8-8, maybe Tomlin can give you another 8-8 next year, we started out 0-4 and then lost back to back games twice more during the season, 8-4 is meaningless when you disregard the other 4 losses..........

It's more likely than not that those 4 losses turn to wins and we are looking at a 12-4 record next year. Until Tomlin fails consistently we must not can him. 8-8 seasons with this transitional roster is nothing to sneeze at. Once we purge the old Super Bowl guard and replace with new blood, we should see an uptick in wins and a return to the playoffs. Until the 8-8 seasons turn into 6-10, 7-9, 3-13, etc, Tomlin is our man. Consistency is crucial until complacency sets in, and we're not there yet with Tomlin. Give him 10 more years for that. 15 years seems about the cap now for effective coaching in the league.

Baltimore should be above due to the the divisional ranking, but somehow they're ahead in the overall rankings.

How do we pick before the Ravens if we actually finished ahead of them in the division?
