It is not incumbent upon history to show how resting players is beneficial to teams. No such statistic exists, in the game. Search for it, go ahead, it's not there. Why do you think Fat man had to spend 15 minutes DEFENDING it? If it was so right, so correct, so universally accepted, and so beneficial, then why did he spend 15 minutes trying to come up with reasons to back up the decision?

It's wrong. It's against the spirit of the game. It's against the integrity of the game.

and most of all, it is against the Steelers, and anyone busting their chops on five pages to justify it, ain't no steeler fan.

I have to respectfully interject something about the getting paid to see stars. Speaking only for myself, if I go to a game, I go to see the team as a whole, not for individuals. Just because a player isn't playing, you think a fan would cheer less? Of course not, though there may be disappointment. I've had my favorite players of course, but fans know very well when going to games this late in the season, there is always a chance of players getting rested. Steelers' stars have come and gone, I still root just as hard for the team, no matter if it's the starters or the backups.

I have no problem with them sitting anyone, and that goes for any team out there. Those teams have earned that right. And when the league adds games to the season, you're going to see it a lot more often, so just get used to it.

Just one guys opinion.

 

Just for the record - I like ScottChab and enjoy arguing with him. I just don't agree with him on pretty much anything.

Anyone defending Reid playing backups, and laying down for San Diego, is not a true Steeler fan.

 

Don't blame Reid for anything. The Steelers brought this on themselves and now learn to live with it. Maybe next year we will jell faster and not have to worry about what other teams have to do so we can make the playoffs. 8-8 you do not belong in the playoffs.

 

You need to read the rules because KC being in the position they are in have that right to put in there reserves and let the starters rest with no chance of getting hurt. Pittsburgh would hopefully do the same thing....well maybe if in that position.

 

If I remember correctly did we not go into the playoffs as 6th seed and win the SB????????????????????????????????
