    Freak

That was huge and I think overlooked. Along with being so un-prepared to start the season. We basically have the same players towards the end of this season and we are playing better. That tells me the players did not do enough in the off season and the coaches did a lousy job of not being prepared and did not see how bad the left tackle was! It had to take a injury before they could see how much better Worilds was playing on the left side! Still don't understand Troy playing out of position at linebacker! Where have the safeties been all year long when we are getting killed with deep passes and they are no where in site!

Blaming Suisham is a joke is a joke, right? how about this game stat:

    Pittsburgh (AP)
Standing in a quiet locker room after the Pittsburgh Steelers fell to 0-3 with a 40-23 loss to the Chicago Bears on Sunday night, Woodley didn't hesitate when asked if his team could dig its way out of such a deep early season hole.

"We've got a chance to go 13-3," Woodley said.
When pressed if that was possible, the linebacker nodded.
"That is realistic," he said. "We've got 13 more games."

True. Just not many winnable ones if Pittsburgh can't find a way to hold onto the ball.

The Bears (3-0) forced five turnovers, returning two of them for touchdowns to send the Steelers to their worst start since 2000. Pittsburgh outgained the Bears 459-258, but spent all night scrambling after falling behind by 21 points in the first half.

"We can't, I can't turn the ball over, plain and simple," quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said.

Is thread seriously about bashing Suisham for missing 2 FG's this year and that is why the steelers likely won't make the playoffs??? That is even more ridiculous than the " Ben is the league MVP" thread. Suisham has done his job all season better than 90% of the other players on this team.

Where did I bash Suisham and try to blame him for missing the playoffs??!! I was simply pointing out that one of our most dependable players is 28-30 on FGs and THE TWO HE MISSED IN THE RAIDER GAME WERE CHIP SHOTS AND WILL BE A MAJOR CONTRIBUTOR TO US MISSING THE PLAYOFFS THIS YEAR!!! It will be a haunting stat line if we miss the playoffs and could have made the playoffs had those two chip shots been made.

I love my MB brothers and sisters but seriously worry about their reading comprehension skills at times!

For me it's the 4 losses right out of the gate. We get one of them and who knows.

As for haunting stats, for me, it's the argumentation to loss %.
    A Remarkable parallel equation.

Your OP was calling attention to 2 missed FG's this season and inferring that as the reason for this team missing the playoffs. If that isn't bashing Suisham then I don't know what is. Tough to understand intent inflection and tone from a written blurb on a MB post, but before you question other's reading comprehension abilities, you might want to take some of your own advice. But whatever, call it what you want.

More more telling stats would be around the record yards and points that this D gave up this season. All time steelers records and not good records at that. I just think calling out the kicker for 2 misses out of 30 attempts as the reason this team doesn't make the playoffs is a bit absurd.

Probably gets my vote, you can pick out of a hat and come up with a play you could vote on. Way too many this season and that is the reason we aren't going to the playoffs, baring some divine intervention this Sunday.

Knox, if we beat the Browns on Sunday and finish 8-8, and let's say we miss the playoffs because one of the other three teams we're vying for a wildcard with wins. The fact is that had we finished 9-7 we would be in the playoffs, isn't that correct? So is it not also FACT that had Suisham made those two field goals in the Raiders game we would be in the playoffs? Why can't I point that FACT out without being accused of bashing Suisham, which you have now done twice? You can interpret what I said above to mean whatever you want, but I wasn't bashing Suisham or blaming him for our failure to make the playoffs. I was, again, making the point that had he made those two extra pointesque field goals, we'd be sitting pretty right now. I called it a haunting stat because the stat line reflects those two misses as the only two misses he's had this year. Call it absurd if you'd like, but do you agree that had he made those two field goals that we'd be in the playoffs, but since he missed those two field goals we're in all likelihood not going to be?

Starting. To feel a little like this at this point...:beathorse:

    I'm done!

But if you want to pick one game you also have to look at the whole game. Suishy's misses happened pretty much when Steelers were down by at least two scores down. So if he makes them, it is too much of an assumption that the Raiders would have just sat on it. Keep in mind the Raiders gouged the Steelers in the 1st half of that game for nearly 200 yards on the ground. They pretty much turtled in the 2nd half and came close to giving it away. If Suishy makes those FG and pulls them close who's to say the Raiders don't get more creative and chew up the Steelers later in the game. I could see the Suishy comment if he missed a 35 yard game winner or an opportunity to tie it late in the game.

To me the Miami game is most representative of the Steelers season especially when Tannehill had that big run late in the game because that play represented what was a problem for the Steelers all year long - from the beginning of the season to the end - and that was giving up the big play. Pretty sure the Steelers either lead the league or are like 2nd or 3rd in plays given up over 40 yards. So if I had to point to one game it would be Miami.

I agree, Myron. I see what Jack was trying to do.(pointing out a "but, if our usually outstanding kicker, hadn`t missed 2 "gimmes")... he wasn`t calling out Suisham as the reason we might miss the playoffs, but it is also easy to see how his OP could be interpreted that way...
Personally, I took the second game against Baltimore, as a golden opportunity, to take back control of our own destiny(Being a division game), that we blew...
But, overall, I have to agree with Freakfontana, when he pointed out, that with the talent on this team, 8 losses, is inexcusable...
I also question starting Mike Adams, that soon after his off-season injury, when he had struggles in pass protection, last year.
I just assumed the coaches saw something from him in practice, that we didn`t, to justify their decision...
Overall, there are a LOT of plays/reasons, we are left waiting for a miracle on Sunday, and they range from Ben`s early turnovers, to the defense`s inexplicable vulnerability to big plays all year long...
It is what it is, And I am proud of the Steelers for continuing to fight, when lesser teams could have easily spiraled out of control after their worst start in about 40 years...
It also kills me that we gave away our 1st 4 games, and now we are in the position to second-guess, and think about "what if"... We had just won ONE more stinkin game outta the first fifteen!!!, but praying...:praying:...
    GO STEELERS!!!:herewego!:
