yeah that's what I suggest. People that are looking for perfection in officials will never have it. Bad calls are going to happen because humans make mistakes.

 

Maybe, Clark didn't realize it was a bad idea. Maybe, Ziggy didn't know the rule. Maybe, this is all Tomlin's fault. As someone said in another thread, the Hairballs' would have made sure their players knew the situation there.

 

I am still pissed about it too.

 

Clarification on Rule

I just do not understand the officials rationale.... It was fourth down. Whether we batted it forward or not, why would that give an offensive team another four downs? I mean I understand the officials messed off plenty of times on that play, but isn't their an automatic turnover on downs and automatically our ball??? I just want some clarification here.

 

It's in the rules, they didn't just make it up on the field. Go read Mike Periea's tweets on the subject.

 

There are definitely some jacked up rules that when literally interpreted just don't make sense. Like the Bell TD that got taken away when his helmet got knocked off. Rules are certainly needed but common sense needs to be come into play too. The forward bat by Hood and GB gets the ball back??? That just doesn't make sense since it was clearly steelers ball before that.

 

What's the rule? You get four more downs after a kick has been blocked? They didn't recover it. A penalty afte the kick by us should still give us the ball, I think even a personal four after the kick would.

Get upset all you want. I was fuming mad and said so in the gameday thread. What I have an issue with is people saying the game is rigged. It's so damn stupid to even suggest something like that. Do people have any idea what is at stake if any high ranking official in any pro sport gets even accused of rigging games? Do people honestly believe Goodell is dumb enough to tell the officials to rig a game? Do you think the officials would actually do it?

Seriously, the game isn't rigged whatsoever and anyone who thinks otherwise needs to punch themselves in the face. Bad calls happen, and an atrocious call happened today, but that's far different than being rigged.

 

No kidding. I can't think of why that rule has such a harsh punishment. Clearly the problem is three fold. The rule itself needs to be looked at. The refs blew the call since we clearly has possession. Clark also has some blame as he should never have flipped the ball to Gay.

 

Agreed. Seems like the ball should have been dead at the spot of the bat. Shouldn't have been change of possession. It doesn't make sense.
