Ive got a strong feeling Troy will not take a pay cut and thus won't be back... its millions of dollars in reduced salary for these guys...some people have a hard time distinguishing between our fandom and the fact that these guys have no ties to the team other than it is their employer..most guys that play for them didn't grow up with a terrible towel or steelers fans....

I teach in a school district that is super into High School Football... I really could care less about how the team does because I have no ties to them other than some were former students and I would like to see them do good... If they told me to take a pay cut to stay or go somewhere else and make the same thing...of course I am going to make the same and go to the new job

Ike based on his recent comments might take a pay cut... but when it comes down to it again...millions of dollars...

AB would be the only guy I restructure ....

I would extend Miller and obviously Ben, but I would also keep foster... the line has finally had a bit of stability and keeping foster to the couple million dollars they would save would not be worth it.

I am torn on foote... a straight cut would only save around a mil...since hes under contact for next year he might be more valuable on the team and really who else right now would be there to replace him... Williams??? not so sure on him just yet

The problem with Worlids is the market... would you want to pay him 7-8 mil a year...because from what I am hearing that is what he is going to get because the market is so down on OLB...and i am willing to bet not until march 20th or so will we know...thus woodley wont be designated post june 1 cut until they know

If Worilds leaves I would think the team will have to keep Woodley, because there's no adequate replacement.

so in your last year before retirement, you would uproot your family and move to another city for one year of teaching instead of taking a pay cut to finish where you have been your whole working life? especially after they have made you a multi millionaire. a lot of people wouldn't do that. ike has already said he would take a pay cut and he knows he would have to at this stage of his career. foster is not very good on the move and doesn't mesh real well with this group and offense as far as what the offense wants to accomplish. that's a mil. and a half savings. foote is a mil and a half savings also and he's not all that at this point in his career. heck yes I'd go with Williams and garvin and add to it. if troy wants to leave, so be it. 8 mil will go a long way.

if it cost 7-8 mil to keep worilds then he won't be kept. I don't think he will bring that type of money. if he does then some other team must have a lot of money to blow. I think we offer somewhere around 3-5 mil. for him. that's quite the increase from his 630,000 he's making now. carter would be kept and we may draft someone then. if Woodley can't stay on the field we will need guys anyway.

It's really tough to say what Worilds will command in the market. Last year's free agent market was very unpredictable. Look at Cliff Avril. He was an established pass rushing DE under 30 years old, and after waiting for the phone to ring for a couple of weeks he had to settle for a 2 year, $13 million deal from Seattle. Connor Barwin had a more established resume than Worilds, but was coming off of a (statistically) sub-par year. He got a 6 year, $36 million deal, with only a $3 million signing bonus - so most of the $36 million means nothing unless he performs well enough to ensure that the Eagles want to keep him. Victor Butler looked to be about Worilds' equal heading into this season. Rumors had him getting offers north of $5 million/year, but he ended up with a 2 year, $3 million deal with the Saints with only a 750k signing bonus.

Point is - Worilds may want a $7-8 million/year deal, but recent history says that what he wants and what he will be offered are 2 different things. We may be able to keep him on board for less than some folks think.

My point is that you would have never paid 15 mil for wallace..but someone else did...

you are undervaluing the $ worlids will get...he will be in the 6.5-8 mil a year range...someone will pay that... and that will be his rate based on the lack of pass rush OLB in FA this year.... and there isnt much...
