Impossible. We lose the tie breaker to Miami because our lovely choke job last week. Plus Miami also has a better AFC Conference record than us. No way to get in even if Miami loses their next 2. Impossible.

Someone who watches this stuff probably knows for sure, but I think the tiebreaker changes when more that two teams are tied.

    Pittsburgh survives another week!!
This has to happen next week 100%

    Pittsburgh Win
    Buffalo beat Miami
    NY Jets beat Cleveland

I could see this happening because Buffalo is really tough at home!

    and if Baltimore wins tomorrow
New England needs to beat Baltimore

I won't lie....it feels pretty ok that the Steelers are still in this considering how poorly we played all season.

if this were true, and Miami loses out, and we win out, and STILL don't make the playoffs, then NFL.com wouldn't be saying our Playoff hopes are alive.

One playoff scenario no one is thinking about, is, with their loss last night the bengals could be eliminated from the playoffs; IF, the rats win out they will win the division because they sweep the bungles head to head, even if the bungles beat Minnesota sunday; IF the fish win out they would hold the head to head tie breaker over the bungles and get the 6 seed leaving the bungles eliminated from the playoffs, personally I would rather see the rats eliminated and the bengals get in, so Bengal fans will be rooting for the lions tonight along with me......

FALSE..if Miami and Pittsburgh and the Jets all tie at 8-8 pittsburgh is in based on the fact that division ties are broken first...thus eliminating the dolphins...actually pittsburgh holds the tiebreaker if everyone finishes 8-8 or below

You must still believe in Santa Claus, like Al Michaels said last night, the steelers have a 1 in 1 thousand chance of getting the 6 seed....

So, anyone got this tiebreaker situation figured out? From what I was reading, we would need the Dolphins, Jets, Ravens & Steelers all to finish at 8-8 and the Chargers at 7-9.

Here is the simple breakdown. Don't think too far ahead, only to next week, because if all of these things don't happen, we don't get to the final week. Here is what we need next week:

    1. Jets MUST beat Cleveland.
    2. Bills MUST beat Miami.
    3. Steelers MUST beat Green Bay.

Everything else is optional, but these three things MUST happen next week. I will add, IF Baltimore beats Detroit, then add: 4. Patriots MUST beat Baltimore.

San Diego does not NEED to lose to Oakland, which is a good thing because Oakland stinks and NO WAY are they winning in San Diego. The Chiefs, however, will still have a lot to play for in the final week, and IF everything I detailed above happens, THEN we'll NEED the Chiefs to beat San Diego in the final week.

    5. Then we need the ghost of Red Foxx riding a donkey to the White House naked.

Then we will wrap up the 6 seed for sure.
