I would have preferred Farrah. But, sadly, she is no longer with us.

Agree completely. Whether you think it was on purpose or on accident, they're completely different and the Jets incident was much, much worse.

    Wow!

That's all I can say about this outrageous fine and hovering a black cloud over our team for who knows how long. Tomlin knows he messed up and honed up to it. What has he ever done in the past to think he's some hardened criminal or a trouble-maker? What the NFL should realize is the Steelers lost the game, that should have made them happy enough right there. If you watch the kickoff return Jones got run down by Cortez Allen, period. Like Coach Ditka said on Sunday morning countdown he would'nt have scored if a brick wall were there! They do all of this yet they let New England screw every team they played for almost ten years with a $500,000 fine and a draft pick taken away. How is what Tomlin did even close to that? I wish the commissioner and all the powers that be running the NFL were voted on every four years like congress. Needless to say Goodell would be gone after a term and we would'nt see all of the lop-sided bias against certain teams. He's so worried about football in London he should move over there and start his own league! Good riddance! Just venting a little and would like to see all punishments on a level playing field which anyone can clearly see right now is not. Anyways, Tomlin man up and pay the fine and let's move forward starting Sunday by knocking off the Fish! Go Steelers!

I think the fine was excessive for a first offense, but to have the possible loss of a draft pick hanging over the team is a complete overreaction. I'm pretty ticked about that. I will quietly conduct my own protest by not buying anything NFL related until this is resolved. I know it means nothing to the powers that be in NY, but at least I'll feel like I'm doing something. It looks like I'll need to figure out some non-NFL related presents for the sports fans on my list.

I think that's what ticks me off the most about it: a) the Ravens won, and b) it wasn't a scoring play.

For all the trouble it's causing, Tomlin may as well have run on to the field in the Packers SB and thrown an extra block for Doug Legursky. At least that would have meant something!

That's your prerogative, but you're ruining it for the rest of us who want to voice our opinions about our disatisifaction with the direction of the NFL and the Steelers sub .500 record. We don't have a voice at the polls, the only thing we have is our wallets.

You may think you're being righteous and considered a great fan, but I would argue the contrary. In that, you're impeding any progress/change by saying you're content with the state of the NFL/Steelers and willing to prove it by spending your hard earned cash.

I understand this is a free country, you can do as you wish and not everyone sees things the same. Just hoping you recognize there an another side to every story.

My take on all this is, it is completely out of character for Tomlin to do a stupid thing on purpose like that, especially in front of millions of people. I don't see a history of unsportsmanlike conduct form him in the seven or so years he has been a head coach so why should he start being a cheater now, it just isn't in his character. Now if that was Bellicheat I could understand it, but not Tomlin.

You get them from 1/20 of the price and cut out the middle man (nfl)
    then take them to
dicks I guarantee you can't find any difference except the 299.99
    price tag

I'm not ruining anything for anyone, that's ridiculous. If you choose to not purchase Steelers gear that's your deal, but I'm fine with the Steelers and will continue to spend my money if I choose. And now I'm not a good fan because I buy Steelers stuff? That's a foolish thing to say.
And who are all these people that you're talking about?

Steelers attendance percentage based on capacity:
    2013: 93.5%
    2012: 94.1%
    2011: 97.0%
    2010: 97.1%
    2009: 97.7%

i say that's a trend ownership cannot be happy about as it affects their bottom line. Combine a poor record, downward attendance trends and a HC who embarrasses the organization, something will eventually change

So your telling me that after all the Steelers have done over the last 40 years we should now start boycotting the team because they are having a tough couple years?

season ticket holders buy their tickets win-lose or draw. so it doesn't hurt them if those people boycott any games, since we own the seating license and you have to buy the tickets and parking pass if you choose. as far as nfl gear, that's about the only boycotting that can be done, but that's a league wide shared revenue anyway. add the economy and yes I can see where individual game ticket sales could be boycotted if someone chose to, but the economy hurts attendance a lot. add the records and people will save that money for other things. it cost a lot to go to games. not me boycotting the games.

Concessions is a significant source of revenue for both teams and the NFL, and one of the reasons they blackout games that don't sell enough tickets. They want fannies in seats so they spend more loot. It's all about the greenback, don't think otherwise.

This is very true, not to mention parking, hotels and local business.

Of course it's about the greenbacks. That's what they use to pay the players, coaches, assistants, etc. etc. It's a business not, a charity. Now, where's my NFL catalog?

I assume the teams get a certain percentage of "in stadium consession sales" monies.

Question: Do the teams get any sort of compensation for the the lost "in stadium consession sales" when one of ther home games is played in London??

Everyone makes a deal out of the "step" but I'm not so sure that it was not just a matter of shifting his weight to move on the fly. Kind of the way the body works type of thing.

Perhaps, a fine, but draft pick? C'mon man!
