Pouncey is having the Dolphins oline over for dinner. He will be with the Dolphins after next season if valesco is healing and looks to be ready for the start of the season I hope the steelers look to trade Pouncey

I agree, too much chandelier for the upcoming contract he thinks he's earned. No thanks.

I don't care about the hat. The fact is he will want to be with his brother and even if that isn't the case we won't have the cap space for what he will want.

Com'on guys. Mike Pouncy is their center. Football is a game, your brother is your brother. I agree he may not be here long too

I know it seems strange, but Velasco has quickly become one of my favorite players on the team because he is one of the few players that I see play with intense passion in each game. He also doesn't have the knee problems that Pouncey has, and only (only?) ruptured his achilles.

I feel that Velasco can offer as much as Pouncey did at the center position, and even more leadership than Pouncey did (not that Pouncey was worthless or anything, I just really like Velasco).

So yes, this trade could happen and I would be pleased.

I don't know why everyone is on Pouncey. Yeah he's been hurt a few times and not the pro bowl player people claim him to be but he did go to the pro bowl and took over the center position as a very young rookie. We've had enough turmoil and turnover on the oline lets keep our center and let Velesco play guard. That's at least two positions we don't have to worry about as we are always worried about our oline. How are we going to get them to jel if we give them up?

Beachum, Velesco, Pouncey, DeCastro, and Gilbert
Adams, Whimper, Foster, Wallace in reserve. Plus a rookie draft pick. Not bad.:applaud:

Quite - though I'd have Pouncey at guard and Velasco centre.

If we want a consistent team, we have to stick it out with the players we know have the talent to succeed.

He has been overrated in his short career here. Sign Velasco and ask Pouncey to play guard sign him on Steeler terms,If

I hope the Steelers do the right thing and sign Velasco. Since he took the center position, there has been an attitude on the O line. Ben has stayed upright, the run game has gotten better. Pouncey is off injured. If a trade can be worked out, bye.
Oh and the hat incident. It happened. But he has not since supported it. Now Franco Harris is a different story, still defending Paterno that he was innocent in all of the Sandusky horror. Same goes for Lavar Arrington.

I'm still torn on how I feel about Pouncey but I have to completely agree about Velesco. The guy came in here right away and started to produce. I'd hate to let him go.

Velasco was put on IR for a reason. I love the job he did this season with no warm up/notice, but right now it's still early to know if he's coming back or not. Achilles injuries are tricky.

I agree. Hopefully he'll make a 100% recovery, but who knows where he'll be in that regard come summer.

I don't think there is the gelling factor involved at all with pouncey. he hasn't played with these guys all year. last year adams and gilbert and DD were out most of the time so they didn't play together. pouncey has been in and out a lot of the time gilbert and foster have played much, so actually velasco has played more with the current line then pouncey has.

pouncey will also save 4.5 mil. if cut next year. can we sign velasco for less, may be the question. both are coming off serious injury for linemen. pouncey also has the added ankle trouble in the past. he will also be in the last year of his contract and again if we lose him, how is that going to gel a line together after one more year? we would have also lost velasco, more than likely and we are back to square one anyway having lost two guys.

I'd like to add, keeping pouncey through his contract and losing him to another team would gain us a nice comp pick the following year, most likely. unless we lose a draft pick by some strange happenstance.

:this!: ... keep em both, at least for next year. If they absolutely must leave one go (for cap reasons), I vote to keep Velasco.

get rid of adams, gilbert, pouncey, foster. saves about 7.5 mil.. add velasco, go get kevin boothe he will be a UFA from the G-men. I think we could sign them both for what we save from pouncey. we could sign one of cody Wallace, snow or olsen. we have embernate, long, hubbard, beachum. draft a LT and a late or UDFA LT capable mauler to via for RT duties, but could still jump to the left if needed.

of course this is just one option.

A lot of bodies to replace Mac,
