sorry chab beside what i thought on tomlin before this , but a man that do this stupid (and for me inentionally ) thing on prime time , ,that all the time say i take full responsability and after that, there is a doxen others press conference than say i take full responsability , then come out and violate a rule that can even make us lose a draft pick , smiling on the field after that and say i don't care what the people thinks he wasn't on purpose people that think it is crazy , doesn't disturb and rise some doubts expecially when is payd almost 6 milion a year ... for these sequence of bs ??.. if i'm a rooney i would at least ask myself some question .

How many times have you done something stupid and smiled after? I'm not making excuses (I think he knew exactly what he was doing), for him but my God some of your posts make it sound like he has lead this team to back-to-back-to-back 0-16 seasons.

So if someone say they take responsibility for something, what do you want them to do? Kill themselves? Walk away from a $6MM a year job? Give a paycheck back to their boss?

 

I agree with the first part of your post Scott, but I kinda get what Freak is saying. How many times can you mess up and say "My Bad" before it just becomes lip service.

the 6 milion is a rooney problem ... i mean the team is downgrading every year , .locker room out control (last season )unprepared,undisciplined , questionable draft picks than this damage and all his post game press conference are always the same ,like joking with words and seems he want to show him as the smarter of the room if i'm the rooney i would think if i invested that 6 milion on a right person right now . do you trust tomlin on anything he sayd and done ?

I trust Tomlin but I've lost some faith in him for the reasons you stated but the fact is that he took an 8-8 team and won the Super Bowl with them and took them to another Super Bowl. Guys that don't know what they are doing don't do that.

How he and the team respond for the rest of the season is going to speak volumes for or against him.

Also, who is the right $6MM man? Is he available? Does he want to coach the Steelers? It isn't like we have the pick of anyone we want.

Hard to say. 2006 was a lame duck 8-8 season but the talent was there. Barry Switzer went 12-4 his first two seasons with a Super Bowl championship and then 10-6 and then 6-10.

There is no way you can compare what Mike Tomlin did to what the Jets did, the coach had those players lined up to trip the player and he(Jets coach) touched the player. Does anyone remember when Cowher was about to punch a player running up the sideline? I don't remember who we were playing.
