    .

Totally agree and I will take it a step further. The problem I have is IN COMPARISON to what happened with the Jets when the coach was fined 100k there was INTENT. You cannot prove intent in this case unless you have a camera showing Tomlin moving further towards the white line and field when Jacoby fields the punt, even then you could not PROVE INTENT because then you would be saying that Tomlin KNEW JJ was going to run up the sidelines so as a result he moved closer to it. The camera angles I've seen show Coach Tomlin facing the jumbotron (back to the play) and ALREADY on the white line thus nullifying intent. Careless blunder yes, intent to disrupt not enough proof. The saving grace for the Ravens I thought was the fact that whether or not they thought JJ would score became a moot point when they won the game. I thought the fine should have been 5k0 to 75k and call it a day. 100k is CLEARLY trying to set an example. The talk of draft picks is bullying and unwarranted, the talk of "moderation of draft picks contingent on draft position" makes Roger look like a clown. A man who pales in comparison to NBA commissioner David Stern.
Without the proof of intent this is a mistake on Tomlin's part that should have been corrected with a penalty flag (15 yards for unsportsman like conduct). Tell me this HOW MUCH is the fine the refs received for not making the call? How long is their suspension for?

Tomlin can always help to prove or disprove INTENT by agreeing to submit to take a polygraph test. That's on him, maybe he should "own that"?? :smiley1:

Agree with many here. The fine was appropriate, the threat on the draft pick is complete Bull%**&.

I think it also implies they are definitely going to take away a draft pick, but it will probably be a lower round 6th or 7th round. If the Steelers finish strong they will probably take a 6th, knowing it will be a lower 6th. If they finish poor it will probably be a 7th round pick knowing it will be a higher 7th.

Lie detector test? That's taking it too far IMO.

If I was in his shoes, and I was innocent (had no INTENT), I'd volunteer to take a polygraph test in a heartbeat. Wouldn't you??

Ah, lie detector tests. Those failsafe, not-at-all discredited means of ascertaining intent.

Three independent and seperate polygraph tests would be a good way of doing it. Maybe we could get one done by the FBI, one done by the CIA, and one done by the LAPD since they all still use polygraph tests and LA doesn't have an axe to grind since they don't have an NFL team. :smiley1:

BTW, that article was "time stamped" ~30min after my post, some really great minds must be reading this site. :roflmao:

Tomlin's contract is up in 2016 and the Rooneys like to extend GM's, HC's, and QB's 2 years in advance. For some strange reason, I don't think Tomlin will be looking at an extension in 2014.

They extended Tomlin a year out last time, and extended Colbert at the very end of his contract in 2010 IIRC. Just sayin'.

:towel:Mikey T is a fat liar. He has to deny it otherwise he is facing career suicide. Might as well just execute himself.

To watch all of the videos (and even without watching ALL of them), to think he didn't do this on purpose is ridiculous. Most that see it as an accident are probably apologists or Steeler/Rooney/franchise homers.

People always say, well the Steelers don't fire head coaches - not their way. Well, that's because they never hired a Tomlin. The guy is an idiot.

Oh I also liked when he was asked about the NFL memo, and he said he didn't read it because of the short week. Oh okay, Mr. Smart Guy and Mr. attention to detail and Mr. the Standard is the Standard didn't read the details? Gimme a break. The guy is a dope and a fraud.

Tomlin should have just spilled soda on the field. Would have only cost half as much.

And even though he would get fired for admitting it, I would have more respect for him if he did. At least trying to interfere with the play would have been a better coaching decision than some of his clock management and other gaffes.

I think it is awesome that this happened. Now when we go 6-10 again next year, there is more of a possibility that he will be gone.

    "obviously"

According to Tomlin's presser, the Rooneys haven't talked to him about it yet. LOL :lolol:

I encourage everyone to do themsleves a favor and re-listen to Tomlin's presser there's some really good stuff in there.

Curious, does anyone happen to have a link to a text version of Tomlin's entire presser??
