Exactly! We don't do things like that. We leave that to the Harbaughs and Swartz, Belacheats of the league. I'm embarrassed as fan actually. If we would of won the game we would never heard the end of it. Karma.

I was watching the replay trying to determine that, and the best I can come up with is that there is a small group of Steeler non-players standing on the sideline at the 35, waiting for the kick. Once Suisham kicks the ball the camera footage on that spot goes away. My thought is Tomlin is standing in that group, watching the LOS in case anyone jacks up so he can write their name down in his notebook as I've seen him do, and moves into the white out-of-bounds line while watching the jumbotron after the ball is kicked. Just wandered out too far, like someone drifting over the center line while reading a text while driving.

I can't say why he moved from the sideline into the white, I can only reason that it was instinctively to get a better view. I find that much easier to rationalize than the head coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, who has never even come close to doing or even saying the wrong professional thing during his time here, hatching an elaborate plan in the span of 2 seconds to foil the return of the Raven's kick returner in order to prevent a touchdown.

This. While it did look fishy, the guy has earned enough currency for me to take him at his word. Shouldn't have been there but like I have said, big deal.

    I agree.

Not sure if anyone has heard Flacco dissing Tomlin - but that's the thing Tomlin can say little to defend himself because he either (a) looks like a diabolical cheat or (b) looks like a clueless dumfu** - considering as Blast said that the guy has never come across as a guy who cheats I vote for (b) which is a pretty sad commentary on the guy supposedly running the ship.

I don't think that positioning himself near the field and turning his back to the play is an "elaborate plan."

True...except that the internet was in its infancy back then. I remember being on "Steelers Chat" on AOL after that game. But your point is a good one (if I am understanding it correctly): Tomlin's sideline move is maybe getting blown out of proportion from the standpoint of it being a black eye on the organization.

Personally, I found it kind of funny. He had a s#!t eating grin about it later. I do not think it impacted the play because Cortez Allen was going to catch him, anyway. He had the angle.

But he does deserve to be fined. What I didn't find funny was his lame explanation about it, that he "always" watches run backs on the jumbotron. That was pure ... :bscow:

So you're a mind reader, TTF? You ABSOLUTELY know he did it on purpose. Come on!

I agree with this. Its not a black eye. But I do find it funny the lengths that some people will go to to explain it.

I don't know how you can watch the YouTube clip at :55 and come away with any other conclusion than it was intentional. Especially in light of his explanation that he was watching the Jumbotron.

what is disturbing is that he laughed about it , anyway he did something not legal (on purpose or not) and should have been sorry not laughing about it . lame and unprofessional

Absolutely means there's no room for opinion, i.e. an absolute truth. But that's fine, I guess you were simply expressing your opinion and we're all entitled to that. I just think there are a lot of accusations being hurled at Tomlin which may not be deserved. You know that I've been pretty critical of Tomlin's coaching methods at times but, as someone pointed out earlier, he's never given any indication that he's prone to cheat or use underhanded methods in any way to gain an edge. And why in the world would anyone with any semblance of sanity intentionally try something like that when there are a thousand cameras in the place from every imaginable perspective and in front of a live television audience with millions of people watching worldwide? The league will investigate it and will discipline Tomlin in some way because he was absolutely too close to the field of play, but we cannot judge his intent and that's what many seem to be trying to do.

I think what makes Tomlin LOOK guilty is the fact that they couple the play with him then laughing slyly. I think those images coupled together make it look devious on his part. I don't know for SURE whether it was intentional or not but if it WAS then I think it's really wrong for him to do that and it would be wrong for Harbaugh to do it to our guys. Although I wouldn't hold my breath because I don't see our return guys ever getting that far down the field. LOL. If anything this might heat up our rivalry even more.

I'm not sure why I'm getting raked over the coals for one word in a sentence I used this morning, but it's cool, I'll reword it- I have no doubt he did it intentionally. It's just my opinion, though.

Whether he did it on purpose or not it was wrong. I think most can agree with that. I'm not calling for him to be fired or anything like that, but I think a fine might be in order and you never know with the Steelers or the NFL, they may suspend him.

I'll reserve my judgement until HinesWardHOF has a chance to weigh in with his totally un-biased opinion (since he was hoping for a tie in this game). :roflmao:

Because that's what we do around here, especially after a loss. :lolol:

If there's one thing I've learned about being a long-term member of this board, you've got to choose your words wisely around here or you'll get called out. Now, do I always do that?

He may have done it on purpose, I don't know. I tend to doubt it based on what I said above. But things are not always as they seem.

I agree with TTF. Absolutely no doubt in my mind he definately did it on purpose. Either that or he is totally clueless to what is going on around him, which is a possibility.

I think he`s been reading the message board, and wanted to prove to his detractors, that he will do ANYTHING to prove he is "involved" in the game... LOL...:roflmao:
Yeah, I think he did it intentionally.
The smile afterwards ALMOST proves it.
Either that, or he was just embarassed to find himself in that situation.
Either way... We have bigger problems, than that.
I tend to agree with BOTH statements, that...
"If you ain`t cheatin, you aint tryin"...
    And...
    "we are better than that..."
I`d like to believe, that we are the "saints"(not "New Orleans",) of the league, but the reality is, this is a competitive business...
You take advantage of every chance you can find, to win a game.
Yes, I agree this was a "bush league" move, and I don`t really approve of it,
But at the same time, I kinda like the fact that our head coach is doing everything he can, to help us beat a division rival...
If his team was playing better ball, he wouldn`t have to resort to it.
Ya certainly, can`t say, that he is "standing on the sidelines, un-involved in the game", now, can ya?!?
And, yes, the first two thoughts that popped in my head, upon further review, were,
"At least he didn`t punch the player like my boy, Woody Hayes,"...
    and...
"Damn, has Jason Kidd been teaching him how to coach?!?"
LOL... It is embarassing, and I don`t like it, but at least, I see him trying...
    GO STEELERS!!!
Edit... What`s that saying about, "All`s fair, in love and war"?
Football is a mini-war! The objective is to WIN!!!

Now I'm going to give a brief press conference before I refuse to answer any of your questions. Ronald Reagan. LOL! I love that! I wish Tomlin would do that one day.
