“I always watch the returns on the jumbrotron, it provides a better perspective for me,” Tomlin said. “I lost my placement as he broke free and saw at the last second how close I was to the field of play.”

Nice try Mike. Too bad the replays show you clearly looking out of the corner of your eye and over your right shoulder for JJ.

    ;)

99 times out of 100, Tomlin can stand there and not be involved. Had the exact play happened except running in the opposite direction, Tomlin would have seen him coming and moved over. He's not as quick as these players are. He's not as classless as Hairball or Rex Ryan are.

I kinda wish Jones would have just blasted right into him ...
Makes the whole organization look bad ..
The Steelers have always been top tier, class act ..Win and lose with dignity

Yes he is. That was an absolutely bush league move and I want no part of that on our team. Say what you will, but I believe our team is better than that. We have a historically proud franchise and garbage like this has no place anywhere near the Steelers franchise. Save this nonsense for the Ravens and Raiders.

He's clearly looking over his shoulder and knew what he was doing. I hope the Rooney's pull him aside and let him know to never pull that stunt again.

This. I'd rather lose than cheat. We are not the Raiders, lets not act like them.

I agree. Didn't even notice this incident happened until reading the headlines today. Then I had to watch a slow-motion replay to get the full grasp of it, which wasn't much, as Allen had a great angle on him and would've made the tackle anyway. I do not feel there was any malicious intent.

Pause it at :55 and tell me that it was an 'accident.' He's clearly looking over his right shoulder for Jacoby Jones.

I think it's another example of Tomlin really not being engaged. Watching the jumbotron?? Really?? Once again a picture of a head coach who seems to be more of a cheerleader, spectator than a guy truly involved in evaluating his coaches and his players. When this was a team of stars, his swagger and clichés were a good fit, but now that they need real leadership and more important a coach who can mold the team into a vision of what the players provide and what he wants it to be, he just doesn't seem to cut it.

It was a bush league move, plain and simple.

I agree. He represents the Steelers on an even higher level than our players do, in a sense, because he is THEIR boss. I had a really bad taste in my mouth watching that during the game. I know "everybody does it" as far as standing on the ref's paint goes but everybody DOESN'T stick their legs out to try and interfere with a play.

at :55 seconds I would have to agree he is looking for Jones. I would still give him the benefit of the doubt. However the smirk at 1:07 kind of says it all.

classless, embarrassing and no excuses!!! This was blatant and I as 40+ year fan am embarrassed to be associated with it. He knew exactly what he was doing and then to lie about what he was doing makes it even worse. I wouldn't be surprised to see a large fine or a suspension come out of this.....and I wouldn't be opposed to either.

Just another stain on a very disappointing season. I mean, if we're going to cheat, let's at least win in the process like the Cheatriots do. ;)

He looked at the jumbotron, so that makes him a bad coach? I'm not sure what you're expecting him to do - run alongside the ST unit shouting at them to run faster? What exactly does looking at the jumbotron show about his ability to evaluate coaches?

It was a bit silly, a bit embarrassing, and, entirely predictably, a load of people now want to read it as some kind of sure-fire irrefutable proof that Tomlin is a bad coach.

Anyone see the Jason Kidd "accidental" soda spill the other night? The Nets were out of timeouts so he conveniently bumped into one of his players and spilled his soda (a coach drinking a soda in front of the bench during a game?) requiring a stop in play to clean it up.

The NBA fined him $50k. Wonder what Goodell is going to do to Tomlin.

Love how Kidd just stood in the middle of the spill and made it take a little longer to clean it up.

    That's ham-azing.

It's not like the guy who bumps into him is even heading in any direction. Reminds me of the fake injury thing last season with the Giants.
