I've seen several people post that Jarvis Jones had a good game, but I didn't see it. Now, I haven't sat down and analyzed any game film or anything like that, this is just based on my observations in real time during the game. He, once again, seemed to get man-handled by the LT, and I understand that Joe Thomas man-handles a lot of OLBs. Thomas easily stood him up when Jones tried to bull rush and he also easily pushed him way outside the quarterback and the pocket when Jones tried to speed rush. What am I missing? Obviously, if several of my MB friends are saying Jones had a good game then maybe I haven't picked up something. Tell me why he had a good game. What did he do?

People will say what they want about Gay, and some of it is admittedly deserved - but, he's become a ball hawk this season. I just wish some of that would rub off on that other guy...can't even say his name because I'm so embarrassed he suits up in Black & Gold every week.

Agreed.....not sure what others saw. Very instinctive player, but lacks in the speed and power area (which IMO is not a good combo to be lacking in). I've been on record saying he better on the inside, but hoping he will prove me wrong......still waiting.

It's sad when your right-handed QB can punt LEFT-footed and still bury an opposing team at their 1 better than your PUNTER...

On a positive note though, no blocked punts and the punting game didn't cost us anything.

That was a great game! Steelers imposed their will!

And William Gay was playing this well the season before the Steelers traded him away. He had a few INTs that year. I was wondering if he would still play with that intensity. Looks like he's got it.

Woods!! It cannot be overstated his value. He's a DE who has a non-stop motor that must be accounted for. He is also the Back-up NT. That's not resume' dressing, he actually plays NT well which is a key to good 3-4 defense success.

Woods value is greater than Ziggy's and MUST be re-signed.

Worilds!! I've always been a fan of his. I didn't have a problem with his lack of playing time due to our other 2 OLBers ( Harrison/Woodley ). James is gone and I was really looking forward to watching him----- The Steelers made a mistake starting JJ over him and it hurt our defense, maybe cost us games. We MUST re-sign him!!!!!

Beechum!!! WOW..... He's a OG picked in the 7th rd --- He's the smallest OL playing OT in the NFL--- He's not supposed to be Outplaying two 2nd rd picked highly touted OTs!!!! What a STEAL he was. We still must aquire a Franchise LT somehow. I'd even consider letting Pouncey walk instead of giving him a big contract, sign a FA LT to a contract and keep Velasco and Beechum as B/U Center.

I haven't re-watched it either (haven't been doing that at all this year, actually), and although he mostly got shut out rushing the passer by the All-Pro LT, I did notice he had one play where he got a good bulrush on Joe Thomas. It was on the same play as Cam Heyward's sack at the beginning of the 2nd quarter. Thomas wound up on his ass, but I think that was because he tripped over the LG's leg. Even so, the fact that Jones pushed him into that position was good. He might have gotten a sack on that play if Heyward hadn't gotten it first. Or at least a hurry.

I think the biggest positive from this game was that the wildcat was nowhere to be found.
