Nothing "special", our wins are against teams with losing records.... except Detroit... who just lost at home to Tampa.

Beating the Ravens is critical if they want to make any run.... but again it's against a team with a losing record. I would reconsider that "special" feeling if we go on to win out the rest of the season.... although Cincy & maybe green bay would be the only possible winning record teams.

Heck yeah I'm feeling it!! However dinner at my in-laws will be tough on Thanksgiving if we lose. I will be surrounded by ratbird fans excluding my wife and I of course.

Win Thursday, get to 500 and I will be getting on our wagon to the division as well as the playoffs. This team has that hump to get over for me before I think we are truly back.

Exactly, they've proven they're a little better than some of the below .500 teams. The rats are pretty much at the same skill level as us, it'll come down to turnovers and dumb penalties. If we don't turn the ball over, Steelers will win.

Green bay are done without Rodgers

Yeah, last year wasn't fun. I typically don't say much so in turn they don't get on me to hard when the Steelers are down. All bets are off when they play head to head though.

So when we loose to bad teams we are horrible and when we beat bad teams were still horrible because its a "bad team". Finally we didn't play down to our competition or give up a lead and lose on a last second field goal. Not to mention we shut down a Lions teams in the 2nd half that is more than capable of hanging 40 on any given Sunday. I understand the caution, but this isn't something to be excited about? I can't remember the last time the Steeler got up on someone and didn't give the game back. Or the last time they had a key turn over to ice the game.

Yesterday was the first time in a long time when in the 2nd half I looked at my buddy, a Steeler fan and said boy this is nice not having to sweat out a win... I think they have found leadership and confidence. I guess we will know soon enough if that formula can bury the Ratbirds. I would love nothing more than to blow them out on national TV and end their playoff hopes and the opportunity to return to the Superbowl.

I see what you're saying. Right now, the entire season has sort of that ominous feel that many of our early games had.....we spot the other team 2 or 3 scores, everyone's feeling down....the second half starts....we start looking good, we're closing the gap.....renegade's playing....the crowd's going wild...........then Jay Cutler completes a bomb 55 yards downfield.

I'll submit, however, that given the parity (or maybe mediocrity?) in a large swath of the league, that any win against any team when you're not biting off your nails midway through the fourth quarter is pretty special, especially when you're doing it to a team that beat your OTHER two division rivals on their home field, and creating turnovers and opportunities along the way. With the exception of the Patriots game, we were IN all of those games we lost (even the Pats game we had come back to tie or something mid-way through the third before the wheels fell off, burned, and exploded) despite struggling on both sides of the ball. Now, from week to week, you've got a legitimate debate about who deserves the game ball because you're seeing guys step up that barely got a mention early in the season -- or the ones that WERE getting mentioned were in the context of 'how is that guy even paid to play football????? (expletive deleted). You've also got Ben and Troy healthy so far through all 11 games -- when was the last time THAT happened? Though a couple of our losses were real stinkers, I can only imagine what the posts would look like if, like the Colts, we had just gotten blown out (never IN the game) at home against the Rams and then on the road at Arizona.

So, despite the lack of early success, some of the early-year strange coaching decisions, and the questionable legitimacy of our recent success against 'mediocre' teams, I've wanted to believe even at 0-4 and 2-6. Now that Renegade is starting to play and the towels are starting to wave, here's hoping this isn't a 'head fake' like so many of our early losses, on the way to another forgettable season. Right now, I'm happy that the Thanksgiving game has significant playoff implications and our players are making plays! Here's to a great stretch run!

Exactly. I think it's just people trying to "protect" themselves if there is a let down. If you can't get excited about how they are playing, what the hell is even the point? Besides, the records you are seeing is as much to do with parity than being bad. With the exception of couple of really good teams, everyone else is pretty much on the same level, so a win is still a good win.

FWIW, Mike McCarthy said earlier that his chances of playing were slim to none.

The stains have played tough this year, are division rivals w/ same record. Solid W
Detroit was playing good ball until we came along. Good solid victory.
We beat the Ratbirds in our house when we were playing lousy ball. Good win.
The Bills, like the Lions, were on a roll and getting cocky til they met up with us. I'll take it.

I like all the wins and at least we go into hostile land with the big Mo. I'll take that too.

Isn't it nice to be relevant? Makes it so more interesting. You will never convince me we are not better than the Vikes or the Raiders.Or for that matter the Titans.

I am feeling it . I don't recall remember winning so convincingly .. Don't remember when asked the question " who should get the game ball" having any trouble answering that question. The last game the entire team deserved a game ball ..

We are peaking at the right time and they look very good. Now if we can get a win in Baltimore we are well on our way to securing a WC spot

I'm not expressing anything. At this point, I'm just watching and letting it play out the way fate dictates.

Self defense at this point, perhaps.

This is a huge game for us, the bungholes have to travel to san diego this week, to play the chargers, who peaked on offense against the chiefs putting up 41 points, if rivers keeps the hot hand the bungles will lose and drop to 7-5, then the following week the bungles play the colts and that's not a gimme for them either, we win Thursday we will be 6-6 one game back of the bungles who we get to play again, the bungles hold the head to head record, but if we beat them we will even out the head to head and own the next tie breaker, the division record: There is a good chance that if we win out, and the bungles lose 1 more game besides losing the game to us, we will win this division, and that would be the biggest turn around that I can remember in the last 20 years....

One game at a time. IMHO, most people on here seem to believe that 9-7 will be good enough for a 6 seed. Having said that, this game is huge as it continues our momentum. Should the Titans falter this weekend, the Steelers could own the 6th seed. Should the Bungholes lose, in two weeks the game could be for the division. Lose, and that feeling this team has a chance will fade. Lose and the discussions of next year's draft start up again. A loss on Thursday is likely more harmful than one to the Bengals or Packers (with Rodgers).

Starting to... with a bit of hesitation. We'll see after Thursdays game. Would be nice to win out and make the last game of the season important with playoff hopes in the mix. I'll be at that game vs the clowns. That would be awesome if we had to win that game to get in.

a win on thursday will definitely put me in playoff mode. back to .500 and its a new season. lose and they are back to 2 games under and even though they are not eliminated it would feel like the season is lost.

they get back to .500 on thursday and the division is back in play also. CIncy will start to hear footsteps.
