Just saw the weather conditions for Sunday in Cleveland. Forecast is high 20's, snow and sustained winds of 20 MPH and gusting to 30 to 35 MPH.

If the weather is that way, this game likely becomes a game of field position and not turning the ball over. If there ever was a game for the Steelers to get their running game going, this may be it - of course easier said than done against a pretty stout defense. If there ever was a game where our punter actually showed up, this may be it. This could be one of those games where coming out w/an ugly 16-13 or 14-10 win can be considered a blessing.

I remember 4 seasons back when the Steelers were mired in that 5 game losing streak they went up to Cleveland and lost on a Thursday night. It was very cold and windy that night and Arians had a game plan of slinging it all over the field when it was a game they clearly needed to commit to the run. I hope there is some forethought on what the weather conditions may mean.

So realistically, what are your thoughts as to how we game plan for Cleveland in consideration of what the capabilities of our offense and defense can do ... and in consideration of what the impending weather may be?

Didn't we just have bad weather for the Lions game? Didn't seem to keep them from slinging the ball around.

Weather could dictate gameplan to a point but remember one of Cleveland's best players is their WR Morgan. If we can't pass due to weather my guess is they couldn't either. And Cleveland is not a dynamite offense to begin with.

I still would use the passing game as a weapon to try and set up the run, if possible. Right now our line is not good enough to line up and pound the ball at anyone. In addition I would use the muddle or no huddle to some degree to prevent defensive substitutions since the defenses could be on the field quite a bit if neither offense can move the ball...

I think both teams being wildly inconsistent (as well as 4-6) will result in this being a "pick em game"

we just don't have to turn the ball over , cleveland defense is very good , and haden is a monster , but their offense is nothing special

Very good point DC, Could resemble the unleash hell game.
Oh boy, thats a bad one. I hope we do not lose to
another team we should beat. And you wonder why we
are not in the playoff talks. I am sorry you can't
lose to the Vikes and Raiders.

Not the same type of weather.

Didn't they try throwing against Cleveland last year in those conditions and lost the game would be more like it.

This is where you need a good running game. I hope Foster is back and healthy because we didn't get any movement from whimper. The Browns have a pretty decent front four and two big bodies in the middle.

Mac, I like your thinking. Its Bell's time to shine.
As we use to say, buckle them up tight. If we get
that 240 Pd running hard this will definitley make
CB's and safeties take notice. He likes
to DELIVER THE BLOW.We must hold onto the ball
    NO TURNOVERS!

the browns starting ILB is out this week too. I look for a lot of running and bell to be matched up with the new LB in the passing game. then when they adjust, heath and then the deep ball. bell will dictate the game running and receiving. he is the guy to open other aspects up. he's the key to the offense. it may not show in the stats but it using him that make us go.

This is where Haley will crank up the short game with the no huddle. I'd like to see the same game plan that they beat New England with a few years back.

We are in this boat together. I will usually bet the Steelers light ($100 or so) every week but will bet them heavy two or three times a season. This is the first time I bet the Steelers heavy this year and I got 1.5 points also. It would be nice if this boat doesn't sink. I'm feeling good about the Steelers this week for the first time this year.

We both got STEELERS at +1.5....The -115 would mean we are placing a bet on the STEELERS and laying 115 to win 100....So STEELERS would be favored????.... Just what are you asking dar???
