Ike Taylor sucks

Ike Taylor needs to work on the jug machine. Just imagine if he could catch.

 

a couple of those big plays were not on ike, but clark, again guessing wrong.

 

The issue I have had with Ike was him talking smack BEFORE the game. Come on, man. You are going to be covering Calvin Johnson. Then, he gets burnt and looks like an idiot. In his defense, he should never have been left back there with CJ by himself in the first place.

 

I was more upset at the missed tackle then Calvin Johnson catching that deep ball. Just wrap him around the legs and wait for the cavalry.

If we had loss this game I bet there wouldn't be so many people defending Ike. The guy has gotta backup the trash he talks. At one point he looked like a sick puppy with his head down. Ike couldn't catch, cover or tackle. This guy totaly stunk up the joint yesterday, but again, if we has loss this game, alot of you wouldn't be defending IKe.

I think a lot of people forget that these players are human and that they have bad days just like the rest of us.

Folks who want to crucify Ike - please remember his performance covering AJ Green earlier in the year and the solid coverage he provided on Brandon Marshall as well. The first job of a corner is to provide coverage - not be a guy who can make picks. From a coverage standpoint, Ike is a solid corner - not sure he should be being paid as well as he is - but the guy definitely does not stink. Guys like DeAngelo Hall get their share of picks but are often routinely burned over and over during games.

 

Ike did get beat a couple times by probably the best wr in the game, but he also jumped 2 passes that should have been east ints. on those 2 dropped ints the Lions went on to score 10 points.

Ike has always covered the other teams best wr and more oftern than not he comes out on top. he had a tough quarter.

Ike is not the problem in the secondary. the DB's for the most part have done a decent job this year. the glaring weakness has been at the safety positions.

Will Allen was a great guy to resign. he has been a difference maker. Shamarko hasnt had enough playing time to see what they really have. Troy and Clark are on the down side of their careers and just cant make the same plays they use to.

there was a time when Trot could play out of position like he loves to do, but he was able to recover and make huge plays. he just isnt able to recover anymore.

as for Clark. what made him so effective is exactly what the league is trying to get rid of. he is a big hitter that seperates the reciever from the ball. no that he cant do that he is not very effective.

 

I was at the game... Ike was on Johnson in the second half....they were better about providing safety help in the second half though.

1st half Troy was doing his thing freelancing...second half both him and Clark were playing deep over the top.

Props to Ike for not folding in the second half!!!!

We've lost 4 in a row, I'm defending Ike. He's the best CB we have and I believe a top 5 CB in this league. He was up against the best in the league in that game with monstrous #s against every_corner_he's_ faced. Q2, it showed.
Rest of the game. Ike showed why he's one of the best.

Losing him would be a devastating hit to our D.

 

For some of you, May I suggest the Fire Ben, or Git rid of DL, or Time for Troy To Go, or the just plain Tomlin Sucks threads.

They've slowed a bit recently and need your assistance.

 

It was a terrible game for Ike but it happens. Some will remember the 1992 Packers game when Rod Woodson got burned for two TD's and fumbled a punt return for another. All a player can do is forget about it and move on.

 

Whats up with the Fire Ike talk, I just stated the guy stunk it up Sunday. I guess if you state that someone had a terrible game, it some how translate to fire the guy. It would be a bad move to fire Ike but that doesn't take away the fact that he got used.

 

Is this thread for real? Calvin Johnson does this to everyone. He's a freak of nature at WR, and even if perfect coverage will still make ridiculous catches. Sometimes you just have to tip your hat to the other guy.
