I heard this on one of the pregame shows and one of the analysts said it could be Ben's agent or someone from his camp being the source for the rumors. Not that Ben wants to be traded but to put pressure on the Steelers to redo his contract in the offseason. Ben has made it clear he wants to stay in Pittsburgh. Ian Rapoport was still talking about his bullcrap sources about Ben this morning not being happy. I say it's all about the money Ben sees lesser QB's getting these big contracts with all that guaranteed money, guys like Matt Ryan, Tony Romo, Joe Flacco. This is Ben's last chance at getting another big contract.

I agree about the bullcrap, disagree about the money.

On a side note- I mean no offense, but there are literally 15 threads about this in some form or fashion...

I was thinking the other day that it might be his agent. I have no idea but I will say this. The team seemed to rally around Ben today and I was thinking that it sure seemed like they liked him and that what these "journalists" were saying was probably bull. The whole offense seemed to be hugging Ben when he hit Cotch for that td. Also I would like to see a vid or pic if anyone can find it of our sideline when Will Allen made that pick. I heard them talking on the post game on WDVE that literally the whole sideline was going crazy! I'm loving the brotherhood feel around this game.

I don't think it has anything to do with ben and his camp, he wouldn't want this circus going on and I also don't believe Ben is that good of an actor, he seemed genuinely pissed to be dealing with this.

My money is on Haley talking, he knows his days are numbered and given his two recent stints in the news, can totally see him doing that.

It kinda feels like the season has a different feel to it now. I think we might run the table, guys. This "trade Ben" stuff may be the team's rallying cry!

Ben is actually a really good actor. I found his performance in Dark Knight Rises to be incredibly riveting and emotionally gripping. I actually think the fact that he didn't win the Oscar is one of the biggest snubs in history. Second only to Peter Billingsley missing out on Best Actor for The Dirtbike Kid and Talia Shire not winning Best Supporting Actress for her role in RAD. But whatever Tommy Boy! I guess you just know eeeeeverything!

Yeah they all seemed to be on the same page today. I'm glad they FINALLY went No Huddle. I've been going outside and screaming it at random intervals for weeks hoping SOMEONE will hear me in Pittsburgh. Apparently it worked. I really wonder if Ben didn't have something to do with them running it?

I said it last week when it started that it was a calculated move by someone's camp that way when the wheels come off or reports of locker room division come out they can point and go see we were right this guy or that guy doesn't belong here or it is ihim or me kind of deal. It basically is an early PR move to explain what could be a losing season.

Even after today though would you say that Ben STILL wants Haley gone? I would say that he does. I really don't think there's any love lost there but it doesn't take a "professional" "journalist" to tell us that.

If I had to guess after today, it was either Haley - who determined he couldn't work with Ben and wants him gone, or another coach or GM within the organization hoping it would piss Ben off and he would carry the team for a few weeks pushing us into the playoff picture.

Haley must think he is some big chit to think the steelers would get rid of Ben and keep him

Bill Cowher said yesterday on his NFL show, that teams typically extend QB contracts in the last 2 years and he thinks it will get worked out; My take is Ben has been quoted as saying he wants 20 million in salary a year, he wants a 3 year deal for 75 million which is 25 mill a year, and if I was the steelers I would just make him play out his last 2 years and forget extending his present contract since we don't have the cap space to meet his demands...
