i mean if you made a list of who can we least afford to lose.. of course ben is #1 ... but doesnt AB have to be in the top 5.. so does it make any sense for us to use him for punt returns? i mean he averaged 8 yards per return today .. seems anyone can average close to that.. and is it worth losing your (by far) top receiver for an extra couple yards on 2 or 3 of 4 punt returns a game... to me hell get a guy in there even if they only do a FC 90% of the time.. is it worth losing one of your top 5 players to get maybe 5-10 extra yards PER GAME on punt returns? see the risk far outweighs the small reward?

It scares the crap out of me. He's a playmaker, so I get it, but I would like to see someone...less valuable(?)...fielding returns regularly.

I like it. Brown hasn't had much of a history of getting hurt (knock on wood), and is probably the only guy on our team that has the ability to do ANYTHING with the ball after fielding the punt. You want the ball in your play maker's hands, and AB is THE play maker on this football team.

That being said, I'd sure like to draft someone that could take the job off his hands though. Until we have another play maker at the PR position, AB has got to be the guy fielding them.

of course you do ... who didnt know.. then when he has a season ending injury fielding a punt you will be the fist one bashing tomlin for letting him field punts .. yeah its really worth an extra couple yards a game fielding punts and potentially lose our only O threat... but i would expect you to say that...

At least Hines isn't on here harping about his infamous 5-11 prediction like he usually is after a loss. :lolol:

Its one of those things. Risk versus reward. So far a number of his returns have been rewarding. HOWEVER...at some point I think they will have someone else back there...and maybe (depending on how good that someone else is) they put AB back in certain situations...like they do with ES on kickoffs...and how they used to do with Holmes on punts. But they need to find that "someone else" first...and it doesnt seem like that will be this year.

    Absolutely.

Kevin Colbert got it right when he paid AB and decided to let Wallace leave. Antonio has talent + heart. Now we need to find somebody in the offseason to play opposite of him when Sanders walks. Hakeem Nicks?

we might as well put in gradkowski too on 3rd and long because ben will get blitzed and might have a season ending injury, then we will lose our only other offensive threat.:cool:

My poor daughter is a huge AB fan and every time the guy is back to return punts, she just either leaves the room or covers her face for fear he will get hurt.

Maybe Wheaton can do it when he gets in there? He seems like an AB type to me but I don't know if returned them in college. Bell did though but I say there's absolutely no way we see him doing that in the NFL.

Im worried about Hakeem Nicks....Hes on my fantasy team and has sucked it up.....I know its fantasy but no points in fantasy usually correlates to a bad day on the field as well.

you have to actually find someone in the offseason to return punts if you don't want AB doing it. ball dropped again by the GM/HC.

AB is awfully good at and is a football player. he will do it no questions asked, until the head man finds someone else. we have Justin brown sitting on the PS. he did it in college. so did the cut woods.

wheaton probably would but the broken finger could spell disaster until healed.

I really don't have a problem with it though. AB can spark your team when back there. he is still the only guy in the league that has 1,000 receiving yards and 1,000 return yards in a season. there is a reason for that. he can.

Antonio Brown is on pace for 1523 yards this season. If that happens he will easily eclipse the Steelers season receiving record. --- 1,398 Yancey Thigpen (1997)

This is, presumably, why we don't have cheerleaders...
